Marriott's Harbour Point and Sunset Pointe at Shelter Cove

My family stayed here on Easter this April. We called on the way to ask if we could check in early as we are Bonvoy members. We were told the room was still occupied and were not permitted to check in until 5 p.m. Upon checking into the room it seemed clean and appeared upgraded. My husband woke up in the middle of the night only to be COVERED in bed bugs !!!! They were crawling all over the bed and pillows. He was bitten 20+ times. We had to wait until the front desk opened the next morning. We were told they didn't think it was bed bugs they normally don't come out during the day. But, to throw our belongings away including any clothes and suitcases that we feel were exposed and they would replace them. They then told us to get online and find a room somewhere else with NO assistance. They called us at 2pm that day to confirm that Orkin had come and DID confirm it WAS BED BUGS!!! We were directed to a manager named Jessica Hehman who called, text and sent us several emails promising that our things would be replaced stating "I WILL make this right for your family" even going so far as to say we would receive a free trip. Jessica told our family she was filing an insurance claim and would call us the next Monday with all the information. We NEVER heard from her again. She has ignored ALL CALLS and ALL EMAILS since then. We had to contact Bonvoy only to find out that Jessica called her insurance company and LIED TO THEM filing a claim saying that no one had stayed in our room for 3 weeks prior to our visit and that WE brought bed bugs! That was an absolute fabrication and such a disgusting way to have handled this. We have traveled all over the world and this was the WORST experience we have EVER HAD and the WORST customer service experience we have ever had. I WARN anyone considering staying here- DO NOT GO!!!!!!!!!!!

Our stay was great, Friendly staff,couldn’t have been cleaner . Great location.

Check-in was less than desirable. Check-in was 4 PM but we arrived early. Was told we would receive a text when we could check-in. Never received a text. Asked for suggestions on golf. Received none. She said concierge did not work Friday. Checkout time is 10 AM. Room and resort, however, are lovely. Large and spacious. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa overlooking a pool. Would be perfect for a family. Parking was free.

Very pleasant property.

The property was very nice and the condo was spacious with all the amenities of home. Broad Creek was behind the resort so guests could get a water view. During our visit, some maintenance was going on but not disruptive to guests. Tennis courts were being resurfaced. The front desk staff was very friendly. One complaint against the cable provider was that five channels were missing from the selection on the TV set in the living room but would be available on the two TVs in the bedrooms. Hargray had been notified by the resort staff on the weekend we checked in and were told it was resort wide. Finally, on Wednesday I submitted a bad review on Hargray's website and the TV problem was fixed within an hour. The same provider for Internet and it was slow.

Very nice 2b unit, but a little dated. Clean with no bug issues. Grounds were in great condition. Sunset building view of marsh and sunset was great. Osprey building outside was under repair with plenty of noise between 9 and 6. Main pool is nice with a lot of chairs. Main pool was only heated pool during our stay. Staff was very nice. Rental bikes are a mix. Get a newer one, if possible, older ones are in need of replacement (very used). If you want a bike, get to counter early to reserve. If not for the construction, this would have been an excellent stay.

We have been going to this resort as owners on and off for several years but this is the first time I was motivated to write a review. We have gone to countless other Marriott timeshares and participated in some of the activities but those were mostly geared towards kids. This resort has “kicked it up a notch” and had more this visit of activities towards adults. Really enjoyable for a change!👏👏

Beautiful

The room we were in was very humid. Towels hung up didn't dry out after 24 hours. Clothes all felt damp. The layout was nice for us as we had our 3 grandchildren with us. The room could stand some upgrading.
