The staff were all lovely, including the receptionist who telephoned with instructions on how to reach the Inn during diversions caused by roadworks. The Sunday roast was beautifully cooked and so generous we couldn’t do justice to breakfast the next day.

Quite a remote location, not helped by diversions caused by the roadworks in the centre of the village. We chose a “cosy” room but will definitely upgrade next time.

Maybe I’m a little biased as my uncle owned this pub in the 60s / 70s and I have fond memories of our visits, but I absolutely adored every minute of our stay - from the warm welcome and attentive service from every single member of staff, to the charming comfortable bedrooms and communal areas, to the exquisite food we had at dinner and the perfect poached egg with hollandaise sauce at breakfast…

Nothing whatsoever. Well maybe the roadworks in front of the pub spoilt the view, but that’s nobody’s fault.

Lovely country Inn in nice village. Food is good and the breakfast is excellent. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We would stay again if in the area.

The cosy double is a little cramped and unfortunately there a were major drainage works being carried out in the road outside while we were there.
