Polurrian on the Lizard

We live in Cornwall and have been visiting the Polurrian in the winter months for many years , we love the ambiance and beautiful location , the views are stunning 🤩

Excellent hotel. Well worth a visit even in the winter months. Beautiful sea views with sunsets over the sea. The cocktails are well worth a try!

Beautiful hotel, recently refurbished to a very tasteful standard. Amazing situation on Cornish clifftop.

We booked the one night away just to have a pre winter change of scenery, we are only two hours away and have stayed there a couple of times before. Stopped at the viewing spot at the RNAS Culdrose on the way down. Saw a couple of helicopters. We arrived at the hotel too early , we thought we’d do a walk but the weather put us off. To be expected this time of the year. So we had lunch watching the sea and weather. Husband enjoyed his pint of Sharps Atlantic and homemade burger. I had the savoury tea plater. Excellent. So good I needed a nap in the chair afterwards. When the room was available it was clean, had everything we needed. What was nice was the real milk in the fridge to have with hot drinks. Our tv remote was missing but a replacement was brought within minutes of informing reception. The evening meal was excellent. Carrot and honey soup to start for us both. I’m definitely going to try and make that. Husband had plaice and I had mushroom stroganoff. Both excellent choices. The bed was clean, crisp and comfortable. Bathroom likewise. Shower hot and clean . Lovely breakfast the next morning as well. There are plans to modernise and refurbish the hotel on display and these look amazing. When completed I hope the hotel retains its lovely atmosphere.

Excellent from the moment we stepped inside. We were early,, so we had a love lunch. Fabulous view of the sea. Our room was good. We had booked a sea view and were not disappointed. Our evening meals were cooked to perfection. All of the staff were excellent. A wonderful stay.

We were treated to a one night stay by family members. Our sea view room was superb. We enjoyed a delicious evening meal and breakfast. We used the swimming pool which we very much enjoyed. We were able to walk down to the beach as the sun was setting. A delightful stay, relaxed atmosphere and lovely staff, who were able to help at all times. We took our dog with us, he enjoyed his stay too! We would certainly return.

Fabulous location with stunning views from restaurants, bar and our room. Lovely coastal walks on the doorstep. Both dinner and breakfast very good quality food and friendly professional service. Swimming pool a bit dated but I noticed plans to modernise the spa so this will be improved. In bathroom, the shower was above the bath would have preferred the luxury of a walk-in shower,

This is our second stay at the polurrian, first time as a family. We stayed at the Polurrian for a family break in half term. We stayed in the self contained units and paid additionally for the breakfast and dinner package - however please bear in mind, this does not include the children for the dinner package which was disappointing. Maggie on reception was wonderful. However there was another lady on reception who was really quite miserable and didn’t represent the hotel well. We were also disappointed with the menu selection for dinner, everything was chip based and by the third night, we craved rice or pasta as a change. The location is stunning and hotel is beautifully but I think some improvements is required to the menu.

We recently had just had a spa here at the hotel as it was booked as a present . Firstly will say the treatments were really lovely , the two girls doing the treatments were great , but in terms of facilities it was not good at all ! Photos are totally misleading, cleanliness is dire and the pool is a huge risk ! The pool is dirty and tiles missing in pool and also falling off , the pool flooring had patches were there was no tiles therefore risk of injury, sand floating around in the pool and hot tub . Changing rooms were really outdated. On to afternoon tea the location is beautiful but the scones were soggy , the cream for the scones was OFF as it tasted and stank of cheese and was also clumpy ! And the cakes were just a little underwhelming.

Lovely situation. De luxe room was extremely comfortable with an amazing view. Staff were lovely and food was good. Weather not so good but it was November !! Very comfortable to just laze around. Didn’t use Spa but it looked great and was not horrendously expensive. Loved it / will definitely return.
