The Naini Retreat, Nainital

Spectacular views, polite and friendly staff, super clean and beautifully maintained. Excellent service.

The Naini Retreat was fantastic! The property sits high on the mountain, offering beautiful views. The staff were exceptional: friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff were very willing to address my dietary restrictions and provide some incredible food. I also used the spa, and it was a perfect way to relax after a long day of sightseeing. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The hotel provides courtesy shuttles down to the market, which is greatly appreciated. They also have a daily high tea which I highly recommend. Overall a great experience. Highly recommend this hotel if you are planning to visit Nainital.

I was disappointed with the room.It definitely needed a refurbishing since it looked old and tired. The bathroom was particularly disappointing with a great deal of work to bring it to the star rating. The spa too could do with a facelift. The one place that I felt was 5 star was in the dinning room with the chef and the catering manager taking the accolade,overall a lovely place to stay at.

Best hotel by far in the area

The staff is not proficiently trained to work in a hotel. They lack simple professionalism and knowledge of English . They were however very polite and nice. The WiFi does not work. The water in the shower was cold. The free shuttle is there but the men outside were just acting unprofessionally . The building is beautiful, great views of the lake but it’s difficult to get here. You’ll need a driver that’s experienced in hilly terrain driving. The breakfast is great. The chef was amazing. He came and talked to us.
