Le Volpaie

Wonderful experience! My girlfriend, our dog, and I were traveling through Tuscany, and our last night was at Hotel Le Volpaie. The moment we arrived and entered the hotel, we were warmly welcomed with a cheerful “Ciao ragazzi! Benvenuti.” From the very beginning, they also showed how much they liked my dog 😊 We immediately got a great first impression. Check-in was simple and quick. I believe we were welcomed by Matteo (I didn’t manage to remember all the yet 😅), who also showed us to our room. Very kind! While we were carrying our luggage, he even asked if we needed help. The room was beautiful and clean, with a mini fridge, air conditioning, and a spacious, spotless bathroom. Everything you need. The surroundings are peaceful and pleasant. You can even hear wolves howling at night, which for me personally was an extra bonus 🥰 In the evening, we enjoyed a bottle of wine on the beautiful terrace (Matteo gave us great recommendations for the wine selection), and we really appreciated how incredibly friendly, positive, and always smiling the staff were. We also had a great conversation with Matteo about tattoos, suspension, and Wim Hof (you better get into cold water this year 😜 you’ve received enough signs already 😅). Next to us were two older German couples, and everyone was so friendly, open, and communicative that it turned into a truly lovely evening. Later, another staff member joined us — I think his name was Massimo (sorry if I got the names wrong 🙈). He absolutely adored my dog, played with him, took photos with him… simply the best staff experience I’ve ever had (and I’ve traveled a lot across Europe)! All of this made the experience exceptional. I also asked if it would be possible to put the ice packs from our cooler bag into the freezer, and they happily took care of it. My only regret is that we stayed there for just one night. We will definitely come back for a longer stay! I truly recommend this place.

El Hotel es muy lindo, cerca de otros puntos de interes. La habitacion es muy comoda, espaciosa, hermoso balcon con vista al atardecer, muy buena cama y excelentes toallas. El baño es muy comodo tambien y la limpieza es excelente.

No nos permitieron ingresar antes del horario del check in (ni abonando early) y tuvimos que salir a visitar otros sitios con todas nuestras maletas en el auto, siendo que habia muy poca ocupacion en el hotel en la fecha que viajamos. El desayuno fue PESIMO porque a las 9 am se quedaron sin pan y sin otras opciones. El personal estaba nervioso y nos comunicaban el inconveniente de mala manera.

Aucune vue. En bord de route en plein village, donc on entend la circulation des voitures.. Ce n' est pas un hôtel en pleine campagne

1. Location: Perfect. 15-20 minutes drive away from San Gimignano, but that was a plus for me, since I like to stay slightly away from city centers. Plus, driving down to other Tuscan towns (Pienza, San Quirico, Montepulciano; Sienna, Volterra, Certaldo) is easier to do from here since you save the distance and time as compared to other places. 2. Breakfast: Good spread of sweet and savouries, juices, yoghurt and coffee. They had gluten free white bread too, which was amazing honestly. Some more vegetarian options (potatoes/sautéed veggies) could be added though. 3. Coffee: You'll get a fresh cup of coffee every time you ask for one, and honestly that's the best thing. Right from morning, till 10PM, you can ask for coffee (any kind) and they'll make it for you. 4. Hosts: Very hospitable, welcoming, and sweet staff. The owner also lives on/around the property, so you get to meet him, chat with him, and he's also part of the hosting team. Don't hesitate in asking for bottled water - they'll be happy to accommodate you, since the ground water/tap water isn't ideal for drinking. Overall the team is very helpful, supportive, and accommodating. 5. Parking: Ample space to park your car, even if it is an SUV 6. Pool: Didn't get a chance to use it, but the pool, its water, and surroundings - everything was clean and beautiful. Very good for summer time holidays to chill out in the evening and have your drinks and food around it. 7. Room: Their superior double room has an amazing view of the hills, its fun to sit in the balcony and soak in the sunset view - the violets and crimson colours in the sky. Rooms are clean, well-lit, no funky smells, good full-sized mini bar fridge, cupboard with extra pillow and blanket, and a well-lit clean bathroom with a heating radiator and hair dryer.
