Holiday Inn Express Slough by IHG

The location next to train station. The hotel had no wifi in rooms. Was told it was not working. Very limited wifi in reception area. Would not stay at property again

We were greeted by friendly front desk staff who also helped us with the issue with parking by allowing us to park on a curb within their grounds which we were grateful for as it was very late I. The day and with two sleepy kids. Check in was easy and straight forward and the rooms were clean, comfortable and within expectations of what we paid for. The dual purpose door in the bathroom was very clever and only seen that in one other European hotel. Next day breakfast was a little disappointing with basic hot food and small plates. It didn’t help with the fact that the dining area was small, bit like the parking spaces availability. Staff could be a little attentive but were ok. I would stay here again because it’s cheap and compensated for the overpriced charge for parking and it’s ideal for short stays whilst visiting attractions nearby.

WiFi is almost non-existing. You have to be in the lobby and even there it is spotty. Orbitz should state this while booking. We booked two rooms, A/C wasn't working in one room. The night staff who was present when we complained was indifferent and just shrugged. A few minutes later another employee came in and was able to switch rooms. The employees at this location are a toss up between excellent and totally indifferent. The toilets do not flush properly. If you have the bad luck of being offered an odd numbered room, then you have the excellent view of the train tracks and the constant noise of the trains chugging through. Goodbye to a good nights sleep. The only good feature is that it is right next to the Slough station, which means you could be in central London in 10-20 minutes depending on your getting a fast or slow train. It is also close to the Windsor castle and Legoland.

The hotel was ideal as it was Near train /near bus/ near shops

On leaving £14 parking charge demanded after l went back to hand room keys in.....no mention of this on booking or checking in when Car registration details taken.Told that l would have been fi ed if l had just left.....but no one told me at check in when l would have been happy to pay as in no hurry then....treated very badly at check out after a great stay.

Staff friendly and room was adequate for a one night stop off. Parking charges to expensive £14 a night. Good selection at Breakfast prior to early departure to Airport. Overall I would score my stay as a 8/10.

Great base for legoland, Didn’t like the food, it was poor quality, breakfast was ok but dining room was too crowded for it to be relaxing. Paying £14 for parking overnight is extortionate!

The minute we were greeted at reception I knew we'd be OK for an overnight stay at this hotel. The fuss they made over our 2 boys, especially our eldest, who was celebrating his 8th birthday, was so lovely. I'm sorry I didn't get her name because she is definitely worth a mention. Very helpful staff, very friendly place. We stayed here before going to legoland the next day and wasn't dissapointed with the value for money.

Family of 4 staying here for 1 night as it’s just up the road from Legoland. The hotel was perfectly clean but the A/C in our room wasn’t working and the front desk said they are currently changing out the A/C on the upper floors which is why. Because of this the room was too hot at night and having the window open caused the kids to keep waking up as the train line was right below the room, so mainline trains into London kept flying past. Wasn’t too impressed with having to pay £14 for the car park either but I should’ve spotted it in the small print. Otherwise the beds were comfy, breakfast was fine and the staff were super friendly. If the A/C was working then I would’ve rated higher but on this occasion I just couldn’t and if I’m honest I would probably look to stay elsewhere next time.
