Homewood Suites by Hilton Lancaster

We were with several of our grandchildren so the pool was a wonderful activity for them. The pool towels were a bit small and thin, but did appreciate having them at the pool. Front desk staff very friendly! Only issue was we had connecting rooms and on one side the door was off its frame. Ok for us since we had the doors open, but could not close it if needed.

The location was great, service was exceptional

Everything was great, the shower handle was very loose when we used it.

We stayed in the suite that probably doesn't get used that much. There were several maintenance issues that needed attention. The bathroom faucet handle was so loose that it was difficult to change temperature. A handle on the dresser lost a screw and was hanging loose. The light bulb in the kitchen hood was burned out. The hotel might have fixed everything if I had asked, but I didn't want technicians in my room and I shouldn't have to ask. Otherwise it was a nice stay and the price was right.

Good central location, older but decently clean, staff was very nice.

Trip to Lancaster with my wife. Pre Christmas break. The Hotel was nice enough, I found that the pictures of the suite made it look so much larger, so I booked accordingly. So tiny The bed was rock hard, and when I went to ask the front desk for some additional blankets, she was not thrilled and went and got some…never asked afterwards if we were good. We recently returned from an extended stay at this hotel. What was going to be ten days turned into about six weeks as we continued to househunt a bit around the area, but also because the area and this hotel were feeling like a home away from home. First off, this was the cleanest room I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in many many hotels, mostly within the Hilton Brand. I mean, it was CLEAN. Same with the common areas. Everything was tidy and stocked nicely. I loved going out and getting hot chocolate and bringing it into the room or sitting in front of the fire and reading. The lobby is very comfortable. I can’t believe we never once made it to breakfast. But it looked as though they had wonderful options including breakfast tacos with fixings. We did regularly attend the Wednesday evening social and that was always a nice spread of light foods like cheese and crackers, soups, salads, dips, and desserts, plus soft drinks and wine. Second, the staff is exceptional. Everyone is friendly and responsive. We aren’t particularly needy travelers, but whatever we did need was easily accommodated. They are so efficient. This was the first time I have added days during a trip that the staff automatically kept me in the same room and also alerted housekeeping so that no one was coming to turn the room over at check out time. You’d be surprised how rare that easy check in/check out stay over situation was compared to other places we’ve stayed. It was just so simple. They had my credit card on file so they simply charged it and I just needed to pick up new room keys for the next stay. Sometimes I just used my digital key, which worked great. Even with all the check ins and check outs, I never had any problem with my bills, something which I know can and does happen at times but never here. The area is very safe and the parking was ample and secure. There are plenty of entrances to make from each parking area so easy to get in and out. The pool looked nice though we didn’t use it and they have outdoor grills and fire pit and even a small basketball court. Homey indeed. If I had one small suggestion it would be to add some more equipment to the gym for resistance training. I wish we could have stayed even longer!

The breakfast staff were very slow, and rude when asked if more food was going to be restocked.

Not expecting too much frills here. We had a good time with the children. The pool is nice, I think it is salt water. Shared spaces are clean. Location is close to down town, and not too far from the rural tourist spots. This hotel must use a scented laundry detergent. For people not used to scents, it is awful and sticks to all your clothes. After getting home I could still smell it on everything. Please switch to unscented detergent. The breakfast was good, but the staff couldn't keep up with restocking items. We had to wait for milk, spoons, etc. They seem short staffed. Hilton also makes it optional to have the evening social. They left the sign up but they only have it on Wednesday's (which is probably the least busy day). This is one of those things that we lost after Covid, but the hotel owners are too cheap to spread a little joy on a Friday. Common guys.... How much could that possibly cost? If the ownership got their act together it could be a 5 star. I am willing to overlook the outdated rooms.
