Homewood Suites by Hilton Lancaster

clean, comfortable and good breakfast

While we are pretty committed to the Hilton brand, we will probably not use Homewood Suites anymore ... we were disappointed. The property was well-kept and in good condition - it looked really good. Our room was exceptionally clean and well appointed, but when we went to bed, we found that the mattress was really bad - swayed in the middle, uneven from side to side, just work out in terms of firmness. So, with a bad back for one of us to deal with, we requested another room. The front desk person (Joanna??) was exceptionally helpful, assigned us a different room, and was very understanding. And the new room had a much better mattress. Breakfast was very disappointing, and our first b'fast there seemed to be staffed with a young man who had no idea what was going on. The hot items were cold, the other items were under stocked, and he had no desire to help or restock. The woman there the second day was really nice and the place was very organized. The warm food, however, was not war. So, no showstoppers with our experience, but enough to say that our Hampton Inn experiences as well as our Marriott brand experiences, typically far out-shine our Homewood experiences, especially this last one. But the desk staff were all exceptional - thank you very much - it was the mattress / room appointments (like a broken alarm clock that they could not replace) and the breakfasts that were the disappointing features of our stay. We'll avoid this location on our next visit - hopefully use a different Hilton brand. But by and large, it was an alright stay - I feel a bit guilty for complaining! And thank you very much for the good things!

Liked the place and its cleanliness. Room were spacious and clean. The hotel staff was courteous and very nice. Breakfast was good . Unfortunately got just night to spend due to official trip but liked the place

Lancaster, Homewood Suites was very clean! Staff was very pleasant. One of my best stays so far at this location! Would do again when needed.
