Parador Nature Resort and Spa

We had a spectacular stay at the Parador Nature Resort and Spa for our anniversary in February. We even got engaged there, and are seriously considering going back for our honeymoon! They made our stay so special with a coupon for a couple's massage, and a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries left as a surprise in our room multiple times. Their staff is friendly and accommodating, the food is delicious, and the amenities are excellent. I loved sitting on the balcony each morning with a cup of coffee, listening to the birds. Their monkey trail was one of our favorite parts, plus all the wildlife you can see just wandering the grounds. We saw capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, sloths, toucans, macaws, toucans, and the most adorable porcupine. The pools were all fantastic, and the short 10 minute walk down to the nearby beach was very convenient. As two public school teachers, this is a bit more than we would usually pay for a hotel, but man was it worth it!! Do yourself a favor and splurge a bit. You won't be disappointed.

This was our second stay at Hotel Parador, our first being our honeymoon 19 years ago. I notified Hotel Parador of our history with their resort, and they could not have been more thoughtful about it. Upon arriving we were upgraded to a Suite room with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. In our room was a fruit basket and plate of chocolate covered strawberries. On the last night of our stay, they surprised us with rose petals on the floor and a bottle of sparking wine in our room. A very thoughtful and appreciated touch for the last night of our trip. The staff we interacted with were also fantastic, very thoughtful and friendly. We spent some time trying to recreate pictures we had taken 19 years ago. The staff went far out of their way to move things around and help us capture these pictures. We were greeted with a smile everywhere we went and it was clear that the people we interacted with were truly interested in conversation and genuinely friendly people. Our stay here was truly a luxurious experience. We are already discussing coming back with our children soon.

My husband and I hosted our SoulFIT Retreat at the Parador in April and it was spectacular. When we first visited the location, we knew that we had to bring our group here, and they were not disappointed! Alison and the amazing staff who helped us with every detail of the retreat, were kind, gracious and went above and beyond to make sure that the group was well taken care of. When arrivals on the first evening took a little longer, they without hesitation pushed back the time of our welcome dinner so every guest could arrive and have time to get to their rooms and relax a bit before we began. We had a delicious menu that our group could choose from for lunch and dinner options, and they all enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The servers at the restaurants were impeccable throughout, and the food was so delicious (special thank you to the sweet lady who makes the omelets in the mornings!!). At the Parador, the amount of wildlife that you see is truly remarkable, every person in our group got to experience the monkeys, get up close and personal with the sloths and were wowed by the beautiful toucans and parrots and so many other birds. You can't help but always be looking UP to see what you can see at the Parador! We chose this location for our faith and fitness based retreat also because of the calming vibe, there isn't loud music or disruptions, it is so peaceful and allows you to truly soak in God's beauty. The spaces that we had for our various events were perfect too. The Parador takes excellent care of everything at the resort. When you walk around, you see the commitment to excellence in how clean and well maintained everything is, from the rooms to the pool areas, the pickleball courts, the monkey trail, the game rooms, the spa, the gym. It was truly a joy to spend time here. Parador has a variety of rooms, so for our guests who wanted the large suites and ocean views, the Vista Suites were incredible, for those who didn't care so much about the views, the Tropical Suites were fantastic too. We loved that there were multiple options with great value so our retreat guests could choose what was right for them. Some of our retreat guests enjoyed taking the shuttles into town or over to Manual Antonio park. What we loved about Parador is how much of a Costa Rican experience you get, even if you don't leave the property. We also had a day where our guests took the walk down to the Biesanz Beach. Because of the amazing location and excellence of staff and food and accommodations, our group was truly able to do some deep healing work without distractions. We had so many beautiful breakthrough moments on this retreat; it was a life-changing experience. Thank you, Parador, for making this such an incredible time for both our guests and us!
