"Good"

This is an older hotel in the heart of Evora. The location was great, however, we had difficulty finding it as we had a rental car and the street isn't open to vehicles. I asked about parking and they quickly reserved a place, but they neglected to tell us that we couldn't drive directly to the parking. It would have been helpful to have given us a GPS location of the parking. Breakfast was adequate and the staff very nice. If you have trouble with stairs, this isn't the place for you as there are no elevators and small narrow stairs. They have an area on the 1st floor with couches and chairs which is nice for conversation with fellow travelers.

It was very convenient to walk to many of the sights of the city. The streets of the city were very clean and reflected the pride of its citizens, well worth the visit.

"Nice and central"

8.0

We have used this hotel on numerous occasions and always go back because of its central location. It serves its purpose. Don’t expect 5 star treatment though.

"LOVELY LOCATION"

8.0

On arrival we received a warm welcome. Our room was small but adequate and clean. We found the bed very comfortable and had a lovely sleep. One of the things that was nice in our room was there was a soft and hard pillow so I could choose. Our room was on the first floor and we didn't hear any noise during the night. There is a nice small seating area on the first floor to relax. We didn't read the information in the room until the night time and found out we could of got local maps from reception. The hotel is in between the two main squares and central to everything. We found breakfast to be good and you could help yourself to as much as you liked. The breakfast room only has six tables so can be busy. The tables are cleaned very quickly. Checking out was very quick. We found parking very easy but had to pay. If you have a car try and book a space with the hotel as soon as possible. They only have FOUR spaces allocated to them, which I think is free. The tourist information is located in the large square to the right of the hotel.

"Good values hotel in a great location"

10.0

This is a hotel in the middle of old town in Evora, just a few steps away from one of the main squares. Rhe staff was very helpful, the air conditioning was fine and the price was very good for the value. There is no elevator, so you may need to walk your luggage up a floor or two.

This is a great place to stay in Evora. Staff were excellent with good english. The location can't be faulted. Centre on old town and within a short stroll to everything. Rooms were large enough and quite enough and breakie was very good. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel is old but then again what isn’t is old in Portugal. Great location and close to a lot of restaurants. If using Rick Steve’s book it is very close to the starting point of his recommended walk.

"Good location"

6.0

Located between two squares in a road closed to traffic it is in the centre of the old town and provides ease of access to the main features of Evora. Our room was very small with no tea or coffee and there is no a/c although an electric fin heater is provided. WiFi is poor and the code has to be constantly re- entered and is only valid for a day. Bathroom is also tiny with a half sized hip bath and shower on a flexible hose which actually works very well. Breakfast is best avoided. Go to one of the local pasteria's in fact ask for room only! Staff are friendly and obliging and speak good English. No lift so that may be a problem since the rooms are located on the first and second floors. Also quite noisy in the evenings when other residents return since the small corridors seem to act like echo chambers. No hair dryer although one was provided after a request to reception. The pillows were filled with rocks! Still, the hotel provided value for money.

"Great location, cool history, nice service"

8.0

We had a good stay at the Hotel Riviera about a week ago. The location can't be beat, near Praca do Giraldo in the heart of the Old Town. We loved the history of the building and the area. Our room toward the back of the building on the 3rd floor was very quiet. The room was clean although there was some black mold in the shower and around the windowpane, and it took a long time for hot water to arrive. The staff was very personable and helpful, and the breakfast was good with lots of choices including fresh fruit.
