Exquisite late Victorian home; new mid-modern furnishings are clash in my opinion; wonderful area; glad we got to experience this magnificent architecture; probably won't be back.

This is a stunning Victorian property. We booked because it’s a unique piece of history. I hope the new owners do not try and modernise it as every guest here tonight came here because it’s an authentic Guilded age mansion. I didn’t love the modern furniture. The area is brilliant with many beautiful restaurants around in walking distance. I had a really great time and would recommend to people who like old architecture and history. I also liked the 24 hour coffee bar.

Beautiful building, location is within walking distance to Five Points area. Owners have done an excellent job of restoring this home.

A poor excuse for a B&B. We paid way too much for this experience ... no breakfast, an excessive booking fee, a television with no remote control, remote staff that made it impossible to get resolution of any issue. Then they promised a refund of $10, on a stay that cost us almost $100 more than advertised, and said refund never arrived. A total bust!

This place was recently sold and under new management. They were not ready to go live in February. We booked a specific room for the weekend based on beautiful furniture and amenities. Those didn't exist when we arrived. We also did not get the room we booked since it was actually booked to 3 guests. This place used to be a prized treasure for Birmingham. The furnishings matched the beauty of the house (which is beautiful). However, all of the furniture has been replaced with furniture ordered online (we saw boxes of it not assembled sitting in rooms not finished). The furniture was very cheap and the mattress was a hard as a rock memory foam that was extremely uncomfortable. This could be an incredible place, but the current owners have gone in a horrible direction with the furnishings. No more breakfast (even though my reservations said it was included). No employees onsite during our entire stay. Rooms were just left open for you to walk in when you arrived. No towel or maid service if staying multiple days. Very disappointing stay. The only positive thing was that the place was clean. That is very important, but the place isn't what it looks like.

Beware! This BnB has recently changed hands. Almost every piece of the Victorian furniture and antiques featured in the photos has been sold. New owners replacing with motel room modern. No breakfast offered. Very disappointing. Mgr tries, but all who enter are very disappointed. Go elsewhere.

My husband and I stayed at the Hassinger Daniels house a few years ago for a quick trip and absolutely loved it. The house is magnificent with kitschy fun themes and antiques everywhere. The owner was darling. She took so much pride in showing us around the house and making us feel at home. We loved the Camelot themed room and knew we would stay here again! When we had a trip come up, we instantly knew we were going to book this awesome house again. We chose the "Enchanted Turret Suite" because it was billed as the room for honeymooners! We received an email before our stay saying that the house had sold and they were doing updates that should be finished by the time we arrived, which is understandable. They also no longer serve breakfast so we were getting an $8 credit in exchange. When we arrived our heart sank, all of the adorable decor was GONE! The entry foyer which was once grand is now full of fake midcentury modern inspired inexpensive furniture. All of the personality was gone and our room was a similar situation. The grand poster bed and fancy bed in the turret were replaced with rock hard memory foam beds from Ikea. All of the personality of the Hassinger Daniels house was gone and our hearts were broken. The TV didn't work, there were no lamps on the nightstands, it was cold, there was no staff around for help. Instead of being a cool old themed experience, it's now just an old drafty house with cheap furniture. There are much cooler places to stay in Birmingham.

New ownership. Not what it was. First of all it's no longer B&B, no breakfast. This elegant mansion perfectly located has been stripped of all elegance and warmth. No rugs or wall decorations over the new paint. Porch furniture gone. Rooms are clean but furniture by ikea/wayfair. Even drapes are cheap. No water, glasses, or coffee in room, there is a common self serve coffee in lobby. Nightstands with no side lights or power outlets. Bed hard memory foam on low pedestal. Don't think this grand place will make it unless owner steps up.

Just dug through my email... Two days ago It seems I was sent an email that the property was under new ownership and undergoing renovations/changes. It seems everything down to the furniture that was and is still in the photos of the property was replaced. The charm/vibe and alur does not seem to be here anymore as the Victorian furniture in our room has been replaced with stuff that reminds me of ikea. The specific room we booked looks nothing like the photos. We were looking forward to the breakfast (part of the bed and breakfast) and even that is cancelled. Didn't catch the email that was sent. Two days before my arrival which is on me. But regardless, the listing and photos should still be updated. We booked a bed and breakfast and this dramatic of a change should have warranted a phone call. I don't remember the last time a left a negative review for anything as I really don't. But after a long day and even longer week just blows to get off the road from a three and a half hour drive to a rug pull.

Loved the Victorian details. The rooms are modern and fresh.Great parking.Will return.
