Embassy Suites Charleston - Historic District

Location, location, location

It is very run down and in serious need of a remodel.

We paid for a park view. The staff assure us there is a window. It’s also about 1000 degrees and there’s a screaming child in the next room.

Das Zimmer hatte überhaupt kein Fenster nach draußen, man hatte das Gefühl man schläft im Keller. Man hat das erklärt mit dem alter des Gebäudes. Alles ist alt und kaputt.

To say this place is a toilet is an insult to toilets. It’s a historic building that has been neglected by its owners. The room was dark and dingy. The carpet is so old the seams have split. Valet parking guys were the only shining lights. I’d stay somewhere else. Hilton should pull out.

This is the worst Hilton property I have ever stayed in! The staff were great but the hotel is falling down around their ears. The hotel is way past needing an upgrade. The carpet was awful, worn and dirty. The wallpaper was peeling off. The furniture in the room was dilapidated. We were in the handicap accessible suite which was quite difficult to use. The sink was not accessible. The lotion, soap and shampoo not reachable from a chair and the toilet was too far from the wall with the grab bar. The bed was comfortable and just a little too high. The plants in the lobby were dying. The breakfast was terrible. After the first morning we went to a coffee shop around the corner. The cooked food was all burned by the guy manning a grill that was filthy and way too hot. The "fresh fruit" had rotten strawberries in it and strawberries that all had not been hulled (green tops still attached). The cost was astronomical for this property I presume because of its central location. Not worth it!!!

This hotel is in a great location and has a cool history with the citadel. Being an Embassy Suite we always enjoy the double rooms and the usual good service. With that said, this facility is in need of an overhaul. Chipping paint, dingy carpet, worn out furniture, and elevator problems. Keep your staff just fix the hotel.
