Mackinaw Budget Inn

Horrible hotel and the room dirty. Chick-in was in a different hotel

Location was okay.

First, we were unable to check in at the motel. We had to go next door to the neighboring motel to check in. Walking into the room was like being back in the 1970's! It has never been updated since then. Bedspreads looked like they are from that era!! Sink area was dirty, with small dead bugs on the counter. Carpet was gross. Overall, just a trashy, outdated motel.

the location was good, the property was quiet and safe. they arranged for a pickup for the ferry to Mackinaw island.

There was no breakfast served. Also the bed was NOT definitely Queen size. Also the beds were in different rooms making it tough to have our 2 year old kid sleep in the separate room/bed. The rooms were clean but old!

The bathroom was really clean, aside from one strange spot on the wall. There were a couple of extra chairs in the room, which is always nice.

It was strange that we had to check in at the property next door. We were confused as to which features of each place we could use, so we just stick to our room.

Cleanliness

Simple clean room for a good price. My only complant was a slow draining tub.

TV did not work in either of 2 booked rooms

The location was great - could walk to the ferry and restaurants. The bed was comfortable. The staff on the first day was friendly and helpful.

The grounds are very run down. The room was shabby but comfortable. I registered for three people but there were only towels for two people and no one around to ask for more towels. On the second day we stopped by the office and staff wa unfriendly and not helpful.
