Park Hyatt Beijing

This is a very nice hotel in a great location. My suite was spacious, well appointed and comfortable. Housekeeping was efficient and everything worked as it should. It made for a very pleasant stay. Its what you would expect from a Park Hyatt. Highly recommended

This is the worst Park Hyatt I've ever visited and ranks far below Hyatt Regencies and even Hyatt Places in Asia when it comes to amenities and service. At Park Hyatt Beijing you don't feel cared for as a guest, the facilities are run down and poorly maintained, and service feels penny pinching. The good: The hotel is centrally located, near China World. Room size is reasonable and the interior design is pleasant. There are large, square, bathtubs in the rooms and very large bathtubs in the spacious suites. The front desk staff were reasonably efficient and professional at checking us in for our two rooms and introducing the amenities. The bad: I received an electric shock from touching the base of the mains-connected vanity mirror on the counter. The hotel didn't do anything to resolve the issue for me, other than replacing the vanity mirror. I didn't receive a satisfactory apology or explanation from the hotel even after following up via email after our stay. Our family had their door knocked on twice and were accused of flooding their Deluxe Suite because the room beneath them experienced water leaks from the ceiling. There was no water overflowing or leaks in their suite. Clearly there are maintenance issues in the hotel that are not being addressed. In-room amenities that you would expect in any hotel in Asia were not provided in the room and had to be requested (shower cap, cotton pads, etc.). They only provide the very basic items (toothbrush & toothpaste). Items were not refilled by housekeeping and had to be requested daily. Room service is served on a bare table, with only the drinks and food you ordered. They don't even provide salt and pepper shakers, let alone ketchup along with a burger. I've never seen such barebones room service at any hotel. The "hot chocolate" was tepid chocolate milk served in a tall glass and was disgusting. Dinner at the Dining Room restaurant was nothing special, serving mediocre and expensive food. Buffet breakfast at the China Grill offered a fairly small selection and the restaurant can barely accommodate the numbers of guests staying in the hotel. It cannot compare to the selection or quality at other Hyatts in China, like Park Hyatt Shenzhen, Park Hyatt Guangzhou, or even the Hyatt Regency Dongguan. The guaranteed 4 pm late checkout was not honored by the front desk and had to be negotiated for our guest of honor room to 2 pm. Bed: 3/5 - on the hard side Quiet: 3/5 - doors slam and can hear your neighbors Comfort: 1/5 Shower: 4/5 Bathtub: 4/5 - large; but, water does not get very hot Food: 1/5 - avail yourself of waimai when staying here Laundry: 3/5 - didn't follow laundry instructions well Housekeeping: 1/5 - had to request items constantly

Excellent location , service and stay

Excellent service especially Patrick the concierge. What you expect of Park Hyatt. Views spectacular and the rooms clean and spacious. I felt acknowledged and welcome. I would note some front desk staff were perhaps nervous speaking English and didn't which make confusing situations occasionally but most staff were very friendly and helpful.

It was my worst Hyatt experience ever. - Mold: There were visible mold spots in the shower, which is a serious health hazard and completely unacceptable for a hotel, especially a Park Hyatt. - Stains: The carpet had large, noticeable stains, giving the room a dirty and unkempt appearance. - Worn-out Furnishings: The cabinet was clearly worn out and in need of replacement or refinishing. Furthermore, I was dissatisfied with the service I received. When I brought these issues to the attention of the hotel staff, I did not feel my concerns were treated seriously. It was only after I contacted the Hyatt Globalist line that I received any real attention to the matter. We were moved to another room the second day. The second room was cleaner, but still not clean enough. It had big dirty spots on the floor of the toilet room, and stains on the carpet, etc. The toilet was clogged one day, and after the cleaning lady fixed it, she washed her hands without soap and used the guest towel to wipe her hands. I recommend to not trust their towels. The bar service was also very bad. My husband had stomach issues so we only ordered 2 drinks among 3 people. The waitress rolled her eyes and said "just 2?". We didn't receive any service after that. Our water was not refilled after that. While I appreciate the gesture of offering bathroom samples and a box of chocolates as compensation when we checked out, this is wholly inadequate considering the substandard condition of the room and the initial dismissive response from the staff. They offered a few thousands of points later after negotiating. I declined that as well as it's so inadequate for this experience. Best advice, do not stay there.

Date of visit: 28/10/24 to 30/10/24 Service is very good, room is clean and spacious but I expected better from a high standing hotel for the breakfast... I feel like there were not a lot of choices compare to other high standing hotels I went to in my previous business trips. But I'm just being picky here. Truth is there are enough choices (both Western and Eastern style) to satisfy the majority of people. And if that allows the hotel to not waste too much food that's better. If I don't give the max rate it's because of the configuration of the hotel. There is one elevator to go to the reception (on the 63rd floor). There is a second elevator to go to your room and a third one to go the bar/breakfast zone (or take the stairs)... That's really annoying and inconvenient. Pros: - Location. It's downtown Beijing and subway (line 10 and 1) is just few steps outside the entrance - Pool, SPA and fitness that close at 10pm - Service Cons: - Hotel configuration - I smelt cigarette smoke on the floor where my room was during the day though that's not something the hotel can control... If a stupid person decides to be uncivilized and smoke in the room... Hope it helps
