Spark by Hilton Sumter

Due to Hurricane Helene we could not get to Sumter. Our event was cancelled. When I called the property I was told we would be charged anyway even if we cancelled. I asked for a manager to call me. They never did. We were charged anyway. Poor poor customer service in the light of a disaster. Poorly done !

If you need a place to lay your head , not bad. But if you want towels, soap, shampoo, an iron, working internet, and a working hair dryer, this is not for you. Absolute worst Wyndahm Property we have ever stayed at. Was in town for an Air Force function, and we will all never stay here again.

Breakfast was very disappointing compared to last stay here. Was told corporate told them a limit of 2 hot foods. No biscuits, no gravy, only apples for fruit. Bathroom light was broken and they had a lamp plugged in sitting on bathroom sink counter. Toilet did not flush good. Grounds wete filthy.

When I arrived at 1:30am, there were a lot of people hanging around outside. I didn’t know if they were guests or not. Then I went to my room and when I opened the door I immediately smelled a STRONG odor of URINE!! I went back to the front desk and demanded another room. So I get to my next room and it smelled better so I turned the air on and recleaned the room but the air wasn’t cooling the room , so this is a problem. I went back to the front desk and demanded a room with air conditioning. Now this is my third room and I’m upset and irritated at this point. The rooms were pretty filthy dust everywhere and the vents weren’t cleaned for awhile the carpets were dirty and smelled like mold and musty. The furniture was in terrible condition. Old and broken down furniture were in the rooms. The bathrooms had hair in the tubs and sinks. The toilets were old and didn’t flush properly. Ms Felicia and lady from head of housekeeping were nice and found and cleaned the last room for me and I was really appreciative for them. Thank you so much ladies. I will never stay there again.

I was very pleased with the room selection. It was cleaned. My check in and check out experience was very pleasant. If I had anything negative to say it would be the occupants that looked as if they lived there that were lounging in front of the building. I was just not expecting that and it was a little uncomfortable.

Property is a former County Inn and Suites. The picture of the pool that they have as their profile photo should be Removed as the pool has not been open for sometime by the looks of it. They charge you a $100 Deposit when checking in, but gets returned to you when you check out. The property needs some major updates including the TVs, and curtains. My room, which nice from looking in on it, was missing toilet paper, could only get one channel on the TV, and the AC was not as cold as I would have liked it.

Rude customer service. House keeper cussed at me and told me she was gonna beat my a** b**** I got the right one today etc… all I did was ask her nicely to shut the door at 9 something am because had no clothes on and when I shut the door after telling her I hear check out is at 11, she beat back on the door and continued cussing at me. Very unprofessional very uncomfortable.. paying customer. Stayed here a lot of my pregnancy last year while having issues at home with BD and have always loved staying here but this did it for me.
