We stayed at The Edward as we were in town for an Army Reunion, and the RAF v Army Rugby at Kingsholm. It was everything we needed, and at the right price. Overall the Hotel was perhaps a little dated in places, with a hint of old school seaside guesthouse, but for us that added to the warm atmosphere. The Staff were great - friendly and helpful. The location was bang on. For us it was easy walking distance for everything in the City Centre, but far enough out to be quiet at night. The room was comfy and spacious. Clean and tidy, and with all the bits and pieces you'd expect. The USB charging ports in the double sockets in the room were a very welcome addition. Breakfast was excellent. My litmus test is always dipping sausage in the egg yolk, and this passed with flying colours. Freshly cooked to order, no buffet, and proper sausages - none of your deep fried tubes of grey paste. Also, the tomato was properly cooked all the way through, and the mushrooms were fresh, not tinned. You don't see this attention to detail at this price point very often. Well done, and thank you! It just needed a wee slice of black pudding to finish it off, otherwise perfect! All in all it was a good stay, worth every penny. We'll be back.

Although it was like walking into a bit of a British Time Capsule, it was clean, well kept, staff were friendly, great WiFi Speeds and Parking was good.

Bed was a bit stiff, however, that was personal preferences. Bathroom was a bit small but no issues for usability and for a couple of days stay.

Spotlessly clean. Pleasant staff. Top breakfast.

Carpark is tight.
