Hampton Inn Petersburg - Southpark Mall

Ordered a 6 person room, ended up getting a 3 person room. The air conditioner was broken. The ceiling had holes in it. The staff was rude, and the breakfast was terrible. Plus there were people smoking in the pool, and the halls reeked of weed. Again, if I could leave 0 stars I would.

The Hampton Inn was directly across from Southpark Mall so there were a myriad of dining options. The Inn had easy access to I -95. The room was very clean and everything was working properly. The breakfast was up to Hampton Inn standards and the woman at the breakfast bar kept the area tidy and well-stocked and the food was hot. The front desk staff was friendly and able to give directions and check in and check out were speedy. The only criticisms I had was that there was peeling paint on the shower ceiling, the ice machine was out of order, I received no housekeeping service on Friday (although I had plenty of towels and toiltetries) and the corridors were somewhat stuffy. Overall this Hampton Inn was a good value.

Well, when we first arrived and my daughter wanted to take a shower there was a dirty washcloth hanging on the curtain, we then had problems getting into the room and finally at 10:00 after going downstairs numerous times to get our keys reprogrammed, they let us know that the door lock is dead. We were then asked if we wanted a different room and I said no because it is 10:00 we just want to go to sleep. Next there was a knock at the door and the maintenance man wanted to replace the batteries and I said that he can just do it when we leave in the morning and that we just did not want to be bothered anymore. In the middle of the night I woke up to water all over the carpet which evidently had come out of the AC unit in the wall. Once I had gotten in the shower that next morning the access panel in the ceiling was open with drywall screws sticking out to hold it in place. After being peppered with drywall dust and insulation I moved it back into place. We were in room 213. My wife and daughter were all so scared to get in the left elevator because the firefighters access door was broken and recaulked into place still hanging down.

Building and room were grimy. Low flow shower.

Front staff was wonderful, check in was smooth, rooms are clean and spacious

Dirty- The room was dirty with dried water marks on the tile, dog pee stains on the carpets (some still wet) and cobwebs in the window shades. Noisy- dogs barking and kids running up and down the halls when we arrived at 8pm and again throughout the night, 10pm, 2am, 6am Hotel could definitely use some renovations.
