"A-O- K !"

10.0

very nice place, child friendly ! lots of offerings, good food and drink ! clean rooms, nice views and a good size gym. a little high priced when we looked into staying an Extra day. some of the staff were excellent but some acted like they couldn't be bothered. deck by the shuttle tug boat needs to be replaced. It's a safety Hazard.

"Good"

4.0

Felt like a holiday inn express… the pool was old and there were no chairs ever available. They didn’t clean at all besides a “tidy” every 3 days and the even forgot to give us fresh towels on day 3. It felt pretty gross. Room was spacious though. Bummed we didn’t stay at Westin or a house on St. John. It was a last minute plan… we also paid for ocean view and the pictures looked like you were walking out on patio looking at the water and nothing else. We were four buildings up and we could see mostly building and a little bit of water. It was very disheartening.

"What's not to love about the Marriott Frenchman's Cove"

10.0

My MIL is a Marriott owner and we have stayed her many times before. It seems to be home away from home. Things in the rooms seem updated and we had nothing to complain about her. The pool and beach is beautiful and it is next to the new Westin Frenchman's Reef. There is a shuttle that runs every hour over to the Westin so having dinner there is easy. The Cove has a bar and restaurant and entertainment some nights.

"Bugs in our room"

6.0

The resort is quiet, relaxing, and has a wonderful private beach. However, we had cockroaches in our room. We told the resort and they never came to the room or, if they did, they didn’t tell us that they did anything. We left no food on the counters, and we continued to see new ones after we caught the ones we found. When we checked out, we mentioned our disappointment and got a curt “sorry” and no other comment. We have never had this experience at a Marriott property and it kept us on the lookout the entire time we were in the room. I gave this a 3 because outside the room, we enjoyed the resort, but if we had a big problem, I imagine other rooms do too.

"Take your ear plugs!!!"

6.0

I have been staying with Marriott for many years. Hundreds and hundreds of nights all for leisure travel. Stayed at the Frenchman's Reef in Saint Thomas for a week in December 2024. The food and staff were great. My only warning to all who stay is that you want to make sure you stay away from the wing with the ballroom. Two nights in a row there was a party in the ballroom which was one floor above us. The music both nights was so loud we could not sleep. It went 8pm until 12a both nights. The manager of that Marriott did not even talk to us but rather hid behind her staff. I have filed a complaint with corporate as to a resolution.

"Good trip at a lovely resort."

10.0

This resort is first class. The 2BR suite was like new.It was well stocked and equipped, and it had a beautiful view. The pool and beach were nice and the one restaurant served good food. The exercise room was well equipped and modern. There were daily activities(we didn’t participate)that seemed fun.The staff was terrific. We weren’t bothered by the need to take 2 elevators to reach the pool/beach/restaurant.We were on the fifth floor of the Jost Van Dyke building which is building 1 so our suite number was 154 due to being in suite 4.I am not an owner;I swapped in through Interval International. The St John building(I was not assigned to)is higher on the hill thus the need for a 3rd elevator ride but I wouldn’t have minded. The restaurant is expensive like everything else on the island but not as high as I expected. As an example an omelette with potatoes and toast was 19$ and tea or coffee was 6$ extra. As mentioned in many reviews above IMO the weakness of the resort is the necessity to take cabs. That starts with a call to the front desk to send a cart to take you to the lobby building.(It was quick service)I always tipped5$.Cabs were waiting there. The fare to go downtown was 9$ each and to red hook $15 each plus tip so the cost adds up.I recommend getting groceries at Moes.I didn’t set up the delivery service but we went to St John the first day and bought groceries at the Moes in Red Hook on the way back.We also stopped at the closer Moes at Yacht Haven after a downtown lunch. Our favorite lunch was at the Stone House Cafe.It was a good trip.

"DO NOT LET YOUR FEMALE LOVED ONES ON THIS PROPERTY"

2.0

So, I followed the instructions provided by the person who responded to my complaint. I would have received more sympathy if I had a hair in my food. Apparently, sexual harassment is acceptable at this location…. Or more acceptable than hair in your food. They are quick to provide phone numbers and not take accountability. I only wish they could have owned up to the fact that they may have some bad actors on their staff and committed to training and adjusting their policies. I pay for therapy, they do nothing. DO NOT LET YOUR FEMALE LOVED ONES ON THIS PROPERTY.

"Some good, some bad…beautiful island and property."

8.0

I tend to write reviews only if I believe it to be exceptionally good or exceptionally disappointing. This review is a bit different. The Marriott Frenchman’s Cove had some parts that were outstanding and others where we continued to be frustrated. First the good, amazingly beautiful property in a prime location. The pool and beach are outstanding. The second part of the resort that we enjoyed were the people working there. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. When we had some issues that I will mention soon, they took good care of us and made up for some of the problems. For that reason I went with 4 stars instead of 3. To the problems. First the food. Disappointing is an under statement. The resort is a bit isolated so the food options are already very limited. So to have the one restaurant available to you be so bad, really brings down the overall experience. For us the first issue led to the second. Since the food was so poor, we ended up going to the Westin next door for most meals. The Westin is a beautiful redone property with a lot of great food options. Even their marketplace had better pricing. The issue we had, the Marriott shuttle set up was terrible. They advertise shuttles every hour, which just doesn’t make logical sense. The Westin, another Marriott property is less than a 5 min drive away. A shuttle is the only way back or forth. So we would take a shuttle on the hour and be stuck there till the next hour to get back. The Westin runs their own shuttles but not to the Marriott unless they aren’t busy with their own guests. A couple other more minor issues. We found a lot of contradictions from different staff members, as previously stated they were all very nice. But the details just weren’t there. We also had some challenges with the “tour” from the vacation club. We understood that this sales pitch and free offer is part of the vacation club experience. However we had a major issue, albeit resolved in the end, with how ours was scheduled and what was allowed and not. In the end. We enjoyed this property and this destination a lot. A recommendation from our experience. Rent a car. Don’t rely on taxis or the shuttle and don’t waste your time eating on property. Otherwise, it is a great spot.

"Tropical paradise"

10.0

Beautiful resort. The rooms were comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Friendly staff. Great location. The beach was small but there were floating pads you could swim out to and lay on. The water was perfect and we snorkeled. Saw a lot of beautiful sea life. The pool was newly remodeled. Only one restaurant. Slowish service and small menu.
