TownePlace Suites by Marriott Erie

The hotel was clean for the most part. The complimentary breakfast was good and we had a variety of options. Most of the staff with whom we interracted were pleasant and professional. However, one of the managers was extremely rude . She does not understand the concept of good customer service and the fact that it is her job to ensure that guests feel comfortable and appreciated. Because of our experience with her, we will never stay at this property again. It really left an awful taste in our mouths.

This hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and outgoing. The room itself was clean and the bathroom was nice and sizable. The hotel is in a nice area. Nothing to eat within walking distance. The biggest issues I had, however, were with the AC and the maid service. I was there for three consecutive nights and didn’t receive any maid service. Also, the AC will not drop below 66 and the room (room 217) felt very stuffy and smelled a bit like mildew. Every morning I’d leave the room at 66 degrees and return later in the day and the thermostat was back up to 72 and the room felt extremely stuffy. I woke up twice (on two separate nights) sweating from the stuffiness and heat. Would possibly stay again, in a pinch, but there are better options in downtown Erie (if they’re available).

Included breakfast was standard. The lady serving was very nice.

Don’t stay here! Worst Marriott experience I have ever had. I drove from out of state and arrived after hours. I was told upon arrival that they had overbooked and were going to send me with a voucher to a nearby, dumpy hotel with poor reviews. No other resolution was offered and I was told I didn’t deserve a phone call prior to arrival. That they didn’t care about my time or the aggravation they had caused. What a joke! Horrible customer service. I had to make my own reservation at another Marriott nearby. I’m in Erie every other week on business and will never even consider booking here again.

The Staff was amazing

The atmosphere was very nice we just had a bad room. All the staff members were very friendly so we didn’t complain but the room itself could have been better. We unfortunately got a corner room with just a wall view. The studio suite was smaller than I pictured but still ok for our needs. There was a stain on the carpet I assume from a previous pet so it would be nicer if there were a separate section of rooms for guests who aren’t bringing pets. There also was a dead centipede inside the bathroom light upon arrival so that and the stain combined had us questioning the room cleanliness. Breakfast was great all three mornings of our stay so that was a plus. Plan for a $60 hold to be placed on your credit card upon checking in. When I checked out I was told the hold comes off within 24hrs and it is now over 48hrs and the charge still says pending on my card. As long as it comes off I do not have a problem it’s just a shame that those funds are being held up. Overall, super cute and peaceful hotel with great staff, just got stuck with a not so perfect room

Property was hidden a bit which was nice, free breakfast was great lots of options and was actually hot. Room had a full size fridge, dishwasher, two burners on the counter top and nice microwave. Very clean all around, definitely will stay again when in the area.
