Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham by IHG

Basic hotel that was very comfortable for one night and had very lovely staff. My only complaint is that the room had a strange popping noise perhaps coming from the room next door or above. It was like the headboard MDF board was settling. Luckily I brought ear plugs and could eventually fall asleep.

Friendly and professional welcome and generally a good experience But, I found blood stains on the carpet which had clearly been there for some time but no effort had been made to remove them. It was too late to complain but very unpleasant and i belive the carpet shoukd have been replaced and the room put out of use. Never seen that before

Good location and nice room and breakfast

The hotel was in a very good location, right by the shops, parks and other interests in Cheltenham town centre. Can’t fault the easy location. The hotel is good, staff were excellent and very helpful - they went above and beyond. The only thing to be completely transparent about is the hotel is on a main road and is going to be noisy - NOT THE HOTEL’S FAULT! Nothing can be done about this so if you’ve never been to this hotel before please be ready to get woken by sirens from emergency service vehicles at 2am, and shouting etc from people walking back from the pub/club through the night. It is a town centre and always busy so bring ear plugs or keep the tv on (I did) and you’ll sleep fine. The breakfast was a real winner too and makes up for the tiredness!!

Arrived for a two night stay at this central hotel in Cheltenham, location perfect. Pleasant staff at check-in, things then started to go wrong when we were given keys to room 1, same floor as reception and otherside of the entrance . We had an inside door next to the room, and basically a taxi waiting & smoking area outside our window . The first night we came back approx 12pm and there were people sat on our wimdow ledge chatting into the early hours . We advised the hotel after the first night but as they were full could not move us. On checking out we asked for a refund and after paying £280 for 2 nights we are receiving 1/4 back . My advice is turn down any rooms located 1-6 unless you are disabled and deaf ….

Shame about no parking! Lovely breakfast and very relaxed and clean hotel
