Crowne Plaza Beijing International Airport by IHG

Stayed here for one night before early morning flight. As others' pointed out, it's about 15 minutes drive to the airport. It does provide a shuttle which requires advanced booking and only goes at the hour (so I was told). I only used it from the hotel to the airport at 5am. It was indeed 15 minutes when there's no traffic. I am not sure how long it is during the day nor how it would work when getting picked up. The hotel is in a huge two tower building. It's shared with some other business but with dedicated elevators (more on that later). The best part of the facility is a 25m pool in excellent condition by itself. The dry sauna also worked well. The steam room doesn't work (and nobody helped out). They do rent out access of their gym and the pool to non-guests (e.g., office workers in nearby high tech areas). When we used the gym and the pool, there were hardly another other people. It has a shuttle to the airport and it was on time. This is where the good things end. The most shocking part is the service. The staff are polite and nice. However, they don't seem to provide much service. When first arrived, the doorman smiled and watched us unloading three large pieces luggage from taxi and dragging them to the front desk. It doesn't seem that his job description includes open doors for us nor helping with luggage. When we were leaving, the shuttle driver plus TWO other doormen did the same thing. Watching us (with polit smiles) dragging our luggage to the shuttle and instructed us to bring the bags to the bus one piece at a time by ourselves. All I can think of is that this is not in their job description. Similarly, the rest of the services in the hotel is borderline marginal, but unacceptable for a 4-5 star hotel. The issues ranged from not telling us which one of the two towers our room is located in (not obvious from the room #) to room keys doesn't work for the elevator (so we had to drag our bags back to the front desk to fixed, again everybody watched us doing that without any help). Bottomline, it works if you only need some rest before a flight. Not really a place to stay for anything else. It seems to operate like that.

5 Stars Review I feel this is the best hotel near the Capital Airport and the National Exhibition Center. It has a beautiful environment, cleanliness, high-end facilities and complete facilities. The front desk service is warm and thoughtful, especially Carol at the front desk who upgraded my room for me. The room is spacious and bright, the air conditioning is powerful, the big bed is comfortable, the windows are soundproof, and the room is quiet. Since I am a Diamond Ambassador, I feel honored to receive Lynn’s professional services! With a proactive and positive attitude, I have stayed at InterContinental Group hotels for more than 100 days this year. It can be said that I have encountered the best hotels of the year. Must give a big thumbs up. Because we had an early flight, the hotel specially arranged a sumptuous take-out breakfast, which was great! The hotel's transportation is very convenient, and there is a free shuttle bus to the airport, which is punctual and safe! I will stay at this hotel again next time I travel. Name is misleading since it’s 15-20 min away from airport, but maybe it’s considered near compared to others. Quiet hotel with no crowds. Nice gesture to suite upgrade since i’m ambassador elite, or maybe low occupancy Shocked to see my room door open when i arrived. The room seems newish, the hotel must not be too old. The bedroom tv doesn’t work but i ignored this issue. The shower gel was also almost finished Breakfast had a decent variety of food, but doesn’t look appetising

Quite a bad experience! The hotel does not offer a shuttle from the airport to the hotel unless you book in advance, although at the airport's shuttle gathering location, a post says the Crowne Plaza has a shuttle every 30 minutes. We waited for over an hour (we are from abroad and have no local phone number to contact the hotel directly). After the Hilton shuttle passed us twice, their driver offered to call the Crowne Plaza and after several attempts, someone from the hotel finally answered the call. We were then told we didn't have a reservation for the shuttle, so good luck. We rescued a Japanese lady by offering her to ride a taxi with us to the hotel. The lady didn't speak Chinese and waited for several hours for the hotel shuttle!

Amazing customer service, very nice property and great breakfast

The front desk staff was very helpful and professional. We arrived late on 9/16/23. The hotel was supposed to send a shuttle to pick us up at Gate 5, but was a no-show. Since we do not have a Chinese cell phone, we had no choice but to wait. Eventually, we were able to borrow a phone from a passenger to call the hotel. The concierge told us the hotel van was broken. They were not able to pick us up from the airport. Finally the hotel staff stationed at the airport called an Uber for us. Once arrived at the hotel at midnight, the front desk and concierge apologized and offered a suite for the inconvenience. Stayed just a few hours to catch the early morning flight. In general, the front desk service was good. Room is clean and very quite. Happy for a 5 hours stay.

On a positive note: I was upgraded to a suite without asking for that. But the service is no value for money. Wifi so slow that I could not use it. Minibar empty. English of the personnel really borderline. No menu of the room service to be found in the room. I had better expectations when making the resevation. Will not come back.
