"Perfection"

Second stay and just as phenomenal as first. Beautiful resort. Awesome ocean views. Fantastic staff. They were exceptional in helping make my stay the best. After a slight maintenance issue the first night, they very kindly upgraded my room. They moved all my luggage. I was blown away by the accommodations and views. Hailee, Jade, and Betsy went above and beyond. They sincerely cared about my experience and did their utmost to exceed my expectations. I didn’t think anything could beat the perfect experience of my first stay, and now five years later, I am blown away. I am very blessed to have stayed at the King and Prince and will cherish these memories. Thank you!

"Sad to Say but the King and Prince has Gone Downhill Big Time / Property and Customer Service"

We love the King and Prince and have grown up going there, however just returned home after a quick 3 night stay that was very underwhelming to say the least. Our room was terrible. Upon entering it smelled like mold, the bathroom tub was stained, and there was mold on pictures in the room, painting peeling from the ceiling and water damage numerous places in the room. We asked to be moved to a different room, they said no. Definitely not the customer service of the past! Even a stairwell leading to outside closest to our room reeked of mold/mildew. The resort we learned is undergoing major renovations that will not be finished until 2027, however, there is no disclosure about this when booking. The elevator closest to our second story was not working, so we carried all of our luggage upstairs, which we are fine to do that, but some people would not be able do that. Not to mention the outside gates that you usually enter/exit to and from the property to the beach are blocked off, again, not a huge problem for us but anyone with mobility issues please be aware. Numerous construction workers are on site, there was even a large crane in front of the hotel the second day of our stay. Charging things to the room is usually not a problem however, throughout the length of our stay the staff consistently only asked our room number and not room number and name associated with the room number. Upon checking out, our bill reflected charges that were not even ours! Someone else’s food and drinks were on our bill and it took us three conversations with two people before they were finally removed. I am glad they are renovating, it’s way past due however, I do believe this needs to be made known on their website before you book so you will know what to expect upon arrival. Sadly, the customer service is a far, far cry from the King and Prince of old. The attention to detail is nonexistent and the staff were not friendly and any request was either denied or seemed as a huge imposition for them. I doubt we will revisit until the remodeling is complete, which I hate because there are so many memories here for our family. However, there are other properties on the island much nicer in more ways than one, at this point. Sad.

"Don’t waste your money or time"

We stayed Thursday through Sunday and left genuinely disappointed. The property itself is dated, but that alone would have been forgivable given the location. What is not forgivable—especially at the price point—is the level of service, which was consistently poor across the entire stay. At the bar, multiple times we were looked at directly by staff and simply not acknowledged. Bartenders would walk away from the bar area altogether without so much as a word. It created an atmosphere where guests felt like an inconvenience rather than welcomed. The pool service was equally frustrating. Staff would take a single order, disappear for extended periods, and return with just one drink, leaving the rest of the pool unattended. When we tried to get service ourselves, we were told someone would “find a server”—despite the fact that the person we were speaking to was actively delivering drinks. There seemed to be no coordination, no awareness, and no sense of hospitality. Importantly, this did not appear to be a staffing issue. There was no shortage of personnel—in fact, there seemed to be plenty of staff present. The problem was a lack of engagement, training, and basic service standards, which makes the experience even more difficult to excuse. What stood out most was the complete absence of basic courtesy. Over the course of three days, the only employee who voluntarily greeted me was a gentleman taking a trolley of trash out to the dumpsters. That moment, oddly, was the highlight of the service experience. This is not a minor service gap—it reflects a systemic lack of management, accountability, and hospitality culture. At best, the experience felt like a two- to two-and-a-half-star operation, which is entirely out of step with the rates being charged. Unfortunately, I would not recommend staying here unless there are significant improvements in staff training and guest service.

"We had a wonderful time."

We enjoyed the atmosphere and the courteous staff members. The staff at check in, female bartender on Sunday afternoon, the maid service and concierge staff were excellent

In the main bedroom the bathroom has a could rotten egg smell that needs to be addressed. It’s most notable during showered or flushing the toilet so we assumed it is something to do with the plumbing. It was a bit much so please address that in villa 384

"If your wanting a clean room and hot shower look elsewhere"

We have vacationed here for years and I do not mind the out dated rooms but they definitely have not been cleaned properly. For the amount it cost to say I definitely recommend the Cloister at sea island or the Omni.

"Birthday weekend disaster— plumbing nightmare"

Wife's birthday weekend so we rented a room at the King and Prince to celebrate. It was a bit colder April 9, so we decided to try to pools. First issue was the pools which they claim is "heated" on the website and everywhere else, and if it is heated it's only to a frigid 72 degrees. The worst was when, without warning the bathroom sink started filing up with water when the faucet was off due to a pipe clog. Maintenance informed me it was likely due to a clog in the building from earlier. Water started overflowing onto the bathroom floor. I threw as many towels we had to stop it from flowing everywhere into the floor of the main room. No big deal, stuff happens, but I requested housekeeping come clean up the towels at 4:00pm and at 7:00pm still nothing had happened. Told multiple folks, maintenance and the front desk about the mess THEIR clogged pipes caused, and it still took a while for them to send anyone to fix THEIR problem. Insanely poor service-- I would not recommended this place.

"Avoid until renovated!"

Cute town and good location but hotel is a disaster! Saying this hotel is outdated, overpriced and understaffed is kind!!!! The rooms are beyond in need of updating. Owners should be ashamed to make the rooms appear pristine on their website. Cracked sink in bathroom, exposed plumbing from shower, mold and peeling wallpaper in bathroom. No pride in keeping rooms, stairwells and room entrances clean. The front desk were apologetic to the condition of the rooms and slow service and agreed changes need to be made. Shannon was very helpful. Several guests were upset with outdated poorly maintained rooms. On the positive, children enjoyed the pool and beach access and front desk very helpful.

"Nice property but needs a lot of renovation."

The view from my room. Clean towels. Front desk people were very nice

Room was not very clean. No late coffee service at bar (ie cappacinno). Elevator worked sporadically which left me pulling a muscle in my back lugging my luggage down the stairs.
