The Richmond Hotel

Photos are deceiving as rooms are of a very low standard, mix matched bed bases and dirty wood chip walls and bathrooms are dirty . Nothing matching . Very run down .

The staff were friendly and welcoming, unfortunately the hotel is in need of total renovation, our first room was not what we expected needing redecorating and a deep clean. Also doors being slammed all night we got no sleep. We told the manager and he moved us promptly to a cleaner and quieter room. With no restaurant facilities meant having to go out for all meals not what we expected. A bit disappointing in all.

If I could sum this place up in one word, it was (awful). The shower unit didn’t work. I tried having a bath which was near impossible, the hot water was scalding hot,when I tried turning on the cold tap there was very little water coming out the tap…

The hotel is very run down, there was a strong smell of mould and damp. During the night me and my partner was constantly being bitten by flees or bed bugs. The room's are old fashioned and in need of updating. The shower never got passed luke warm. We wasn't expecting miracles but for £109 For one night we thought that was a bit steep.

Good location but hotel very dated and in need of refurbishment. Parking has to be pre-booked. Window in room didn’t lock and shower was appalling. Only stayed for one night and that was enough.

Mohamed in reception made us feel very welcome. So did his young colleague - I didn't catch his name. We were there for 5 nights and had two rooms. There was not much car parking space but we were able to park for most of our stay on site. The rooms were clean and the shower worked perfectly. The hotel's decor could use a lick of paint but other than that we all had an enjoyable stay.

Beds very uncomfortable could hear every footstep of anyone walking past our room broken furniture half of the lights weren't not working in our room

The hotel is awful first impression it shouldn’t be open my room was dirty the curtains were hanging off it’s rails and filthy I’ve taken pictures of various parts of the hotel on my way to and from my room the only clean parts of my room was the bed and it’s linen very disappointing I was even advised not to leave anything in the car no one at reception for a lot of the time and lots of parking problems with many cars getting parking tickets carpets filthy rubbish left at bottom of stair wells and fire extinguishers propping open fire doors

Stayed for one night .The hotel is currently being redecorated and new carpets fitted . It needs to be cleaned to a better standard.The room is very basic for the money.It is overpriced for the standard of the hotel. Will not stay again.

The location is great, a few minutes walk to the harbour. The communal areas at the hotel are unacceptable. The parking was not free and I was not informed that you need to pre-book. There are only around ten spaces available for the entire hotel as well. The room was good, bed was comfortable but the bath was stained and the bin was kit emptied after previous guests.
