Had a great three-night stay at Baywood. The property is secluded in woods, but also right by the water. The beach is lovely, and you can wade out pretty far without getting past your chest. Breakfast was always tasty, and coffee was always ready outside the door by 6:30. There are a few small drawbacks -- no food or drink available on site after breakfast (i.e. the kitchen is closed), meaning you have to drive elsewhere if you want anything to eat or drink (incl. coffee). There were also a few things in need of repair in the property, such as a squealing shower head. But all in all, Baywood is a great, private getaway for a couple -- close enough to Cape Charles for some daily activity, but remote enough to feel like you have the whole Chesapeake Bay to yourself.

"Home away from home."

The property was hidden behind treed field and away from the highway, given it a mysterious feel. We received a warm welcome from the proprietor who showed us around. It was very clean and very well kept and the back faced the bay. The room we stayed in was well appointed and clean. Breakfast was prepared by the proprietor and it was excellent. We will go again.

Enjoyed sitting in backyard watching beautiful sunset. Room was very nice. Host was very nice and accommodating. Made us muffins and coffee to go since we were leaving early in the am.

The hosts are very gracious and accommodating. The house is lovely with comfortable shared spaces on the first floor and four bedrooms on the second. Ours is one of two that have a lovely view of the Chesapeake Bay. We opened the glass door to our private porch and had a gentle breeze of fresh air all night (this is in May). The house is nestled in the woods so it is very private with no neighbors in sight or sound.
