Ocean Mist Hotel

Ocean Mist is perfectly situated in Yarmouth. Would definitely go back again!!! Check in was quick, they were great about us having two cars. Staff is friendly and professional. The loft room is spacious, perfect for a family of five. Two TVs, one upstairs in the loft and one downstairs. The beds are decent. (Loft pull out bed needs cushion.) If you don’t want to venture out to eat, it has a small kitchenette with a cooktop *bring cookware* (there’s a Shaw’s and a S&S 5-10 minutes away.) We had ocean view from our balconies. And the rooms were fairly sound proof on the second floor. (Some bottom floor units had patios.) The hotel has an indoor and seasonal outdoor pool with hot tub and a fire pit. They offer towels for pool goers. And they replenish them regularly. On site private beach with lounge chairs provided (first come first serve). It is down the road from Parker’s River Beach if you want to wander. There is guest laundry available (card only.) We bought our own detergent. It is close to Skipper’s restaurant. We always eat here when we go to the Cape. (We recommend the fried clam chowder appetizer. So yummy!) Pirate’s Cove is right around the corner where we played two rounds of a fierce mini-golf family tournament. Close to Keltic Kitchen, Three Fins Coffee, Old Kings Cafe and Cuffy’s. We would definitely keep this hotel in mind for when we come back to the Cape. Only con, no elevator. Could use fresh paint job and sanding/weather sealing on the balconies.

Very relaxing family vacation. We stayed for a week - 6 nights. Everything was as advertised. Beach front was great with ample chairs, never had an issue getting beach space or a chair, my kids only complaint is lack of large waves for boogie boarding, its a very calm beach. Room was larger then we are used to in beach side Maine motels and updated. The outside private patio area was large and an added plus for mornings and evenings. Location is great with regard to beach, its literally right there steps from your room and easy to go back and forth during beach day. Drive to restaurants, mini golf, etc is close (5 min to main road) and do-able, not traffic jam each time you go out. Seemed to be mostly families like us staying here...was overall quiet, relaxing, kids playing together in the evening, families at the pool and on beach, older couples enjoying sunrise and sunsets and lots of good reading time. Room housekeeping was variable, probably our only complaint, sometimes they came by at 11 and other days closer to 5pm, but they were good about coming back, or providing what you need, doing what they could, if you were in room getting ready for dinner. Overall we have no complaints and would re-book for future cape trips.

not very attentive stuff, old and a bit run down in places

Due to an unplanned family issue back home, we had to checkout one day early from an 4-day stay and leave to catch a standby flight out of Boston. The hotel policy is no changes/mods within 7 days. I wrote an email the night before and talked with the current GM Mr Terrill the next morning about the situation. He explained they have a no bias position and that all reservations are final. He showed no consideration for our issue and zero customer service. We had to checkout early and pay the full amount for the final day which we did not use. Glad we were able to arrive home early…the $$ is what it is, but the service provided by the GM is extremely poor and well within his authority to offer accommodations for our situation.

Traveled last week of July, 2025 in a first-floor oceanfront, 2 queen room and this place delivered. Staff was super helpful. Room was nicely updated, clean, and a few steps to the white sandy beach with 75-degree water, clear pool and bubbling hot tub. Plenty of lounge chairs available on the beach, although we brought our own beach chairs/umbrella. Minimal waves (no surfing from here). Parking was super close to the room. Took long walks on the beach from Parker River to Bass River and saw lots of shells, fish, and other sea life. And, as a bonus, a great restaurant (Skippers) was a short walk too. Not sure why the reviews are so mixed, but we did our research and have no complaints. Thank you Ocean Mist!

This is our 6th year returning to The Ocean Mist. As always the rooms are well kept, clean and the staff helpful. We stay in a room on the ocean that makes it an easy walk onto the beach. It is so relaxing to sit outside our room on the beach under the stars and hear the waves crashing. It’s a 5 minute walk to Skipper chowder house where we order out for lunch on the beach and then return for dinner. It’s always a relaxing weekend when we stay here. Looking forward to year #7

We recently stayed at Ocean Mist and had a great experience—especially as a family with a toddler. The biggest selling point for us was the location: the hotel has their own private beach that was clean and calm beach, which made it incredibly easy to pop back and forth throughout the day for naps, snacks, or diaper changes. No long drives to worry about, which was a game changer with a little one. One thing we especially appreciated was the quiet atmosphere—even though the hotel is close to everything, it wasn't noisy at night, which meant better sleep for all of us. The staff was welcoming and accommodating, even giving extra towels and waters. There was also a grocery store and a restaurant nearby which made it easy for meals . Overall, I’d highly recommend this hotel for families traveling with toddlers. It’s convenient, clean, and thoughtfully equipped for young children, making for a low-stress beach vacation
