Ocean Mist Hotel

We love that this hotel is literally on the beach. It's so easy and convenient to bounce from the room to the beach and to the pool, which my kids love. Location is great. Hotel needs an update at this point. It's showing signs of wear and tear. Otherwise, it's clean. The staff is kind and helpful. We come back each year for the ease of the beach and pool, and a larger suite/room.

Debit cards are declined for check in. You will not be able to check-in without a major credit card. Management was very condescending and rude. All other staff interactions were very positive. The rooms we had were clean, updated, very comfortable. Best part was having ocean front with glass sliding doors and screens so ocean sounds and breeze were available throughout our stay. Would consider another booking in the future.

Went with my daughter for 25th birthday. We absolutely LOVED our stay. Beautiful room and outdoor patio. You can hear the waves from your room. They were super responsive and everyone was so kind and friendly. We are already planning on going back in September!!! Book here, you won’t be disappointed!!!

We chose this property for its location. Directly on the beach, walk out the door and immediate access to the beach. There is also a pool on the property. We enjoyed our stay.

Awful weather, but we still had a great time. They gave us wonderful rooms. Ours faced the ocean, which was important to me. They gave my children rooms with fenced in patios, where we all could gather. The rooms were clean. Some areas showed wear, but nothing to affect our stay. The location is great…love being right on the beach!

We were very disappointed with our stay at Ocean Mist Hotel, especially considering the nearly $500 a night rate. The location is beachfront, and our room itself was decent, but that’s about the only positive. The shower/tub was dilapidated, with moldy-looking edges and a rusty drain. The bathroom was so tiny that you had to come into the bathroom and stand sideways to close the door. On our first day, no one even cleaned the room, and only after contacting management did the head of housekeeping personally come at 6:00 pm. The following days weren’t much better: garbage wasn’t removed, coffee replacement was forgotten, and at one point our wet, dirty towels were left piled in the shower, making us wonder whether the bathroom had been cleaned at all. One day, the towels were not replaced. Amenities were just as disappointing. The WiFi was very weak, spotty, and unsecured (no password protection), and there was no cell service. The beach areas were unmanaged—people left towels on chairs, and when the tide came in, no one moved the beach chairs. Inside the room, there was hardly any storage: two hangers in the closet and only two tiny drawers for clothing. The walkway near the beach is uneven and dangerous for anyone with a disability or the elderly; rails by stairs to the beach cause splinters. To make matters worse, there was very poor soundproofing. We endured constant noise from upstairs—running water, flushing, scraping furniture, and stomping around into the night. Air conditioer in our room was also noisy. Sleep was nearly impossible. While the hotel sits on the beach, and our room did have a decent view of the water, the beach itself is narrow, and the overall experience simply does not match the price tag. Unfortunately, this stay left us feeling frustrated and let down. Definitely not worth the money. We won't return.

Amazing location and great staff make this a stand out location! My family and I make it a priority to come here every year!

Overall our experience was good. We stayed in a first-floor room with two queen beds. The location of the hotel is excellent—just steps from the beach. The room was a decent size, and while the mattress was a bit soft, it was still comfortable. We enjoyed having a table with four chairs outside our room. The hotel provides plastic beach chairs, but no umbrellas, and when the tide comes up high, the chairs are brought up to the wall. Beach towels were available at the pool, but they ran out quickly. The sand was soft with some seashells and seaweed, but the hotel does not clean the seaweed. We noticed a faint moldy smell in the room (though no visible mold) and the shower faucet was dripping. Coffee is not available in the lobby, only in the clubhouse, which has limited hours. It would be great to have coffee available in the morning without having to leave the hotel, and beach umbrellas would be a welcome addition. Staff was friendly throughout our stay—special thanks to Kat and Alex who were very helpful. Overall, the hotel was fine for a beach stay, with some areas that could be improved.
