If your looking to slow down, switch off and do nothing but take on the incredible view then this is the place for you. Breakfast was amazing. Given we were only there 2 nights and only restaurant is Eden this wasnt a problem. If we were to stay longer we would have striggled as menu is limited but given we require halal options we are even more restricted to fish and pasta if that

First the good: Beautiful setting - situated on the most glorious cliffs overlooking the sea with magnificent sunsets. If like us you have a room with a small pool, it will be delightful at sunset. At your request the pool can be kept at 33 degrees. The community swimming pool is also lovely - it is large, salt water with lots of nooks and spaces to sun/shade bathe as you please. No complaints there except for perhaps the towels that are of a cheap quality but then again they are used and discarded so often around a pool - not a big deal. The staff at the concierge and the restaurants are wonderfully helpful and generous, and very charming indeed. Second, the not so good - lets start with the rooms. They are in no way luxury. The hotel is a hodge podge - as though someone added bits and pieces over time and not all done in a 'luxurious' manner but instead to make things seem acceptable (for example plastic curtains to shield the staff from the pool area. In the room the floor is stone and they have put a lick of grey/brown paint over it and there is no rug or anything to give it warmth. The walls are filled with cheap painting that don't match any part of the room - silver mismatch mirrors, wooden paintings, odd furniture that seems picked out of a going out of business furniture shop covered with white paint. So though our room was large and had a pool it was certainly NOT luxurious or even premium - just disappointingly uncomfortable. The towels and robes in the room (like the ones at the pool) are grey, discoloured and of the cheapest quality. Actually, the robes all have extremely long sleeves - as though it was purchased after the manufacturer made a mistake in proportions and so the hotel picked it up cheap. The worst interactions at the hotel are with the reception. They are a combination of rude, incompetent, unhelpful and at the end primed to swindle you - so be careful! Check your bill carefully. Examples: Asked if my checkout time could be extended from noon a little. They had already said that the hotel was barely half full. They immediately pulled out a sheet that indicated a 30 minute extension costs 70 euros, 2 hours at 250 euros. I indicated that after a 7 day stay I felt I had paid enough and they gave me a 30 minute extension. There is nothing around the hotel so you are stuck there for food unless you take a 20 minute taxi. They therefore charge exorbitant amounts for everything - even when they bring you the chlorinated water it will cost you 7.50 euros! And the food is really substandard and tasteless - how this is possible in Spain is beyond me! This is especially true in the gastronomic restaurant - just not edible. Every purchase of food has a tip line which of course given the charming people that work there, you give generously. At the end watch your bill!! They have added a 10% charge as a "tip to the staff." If you catch it, they tell you that it is voluntary - but no one points it out unless you ask about it. We were 3 people in a junior suite advertised for 4 people. There is only a king bed and of course we asked that a bed be brought in for our daughter. We specifically called the hotel to check if there is a cost. They informed us that they plan on charging a 200 euro one time charge for our stay even though the room is suppose to be for 4 people. We reluctantly agreed. At checkout they tried to tell us that it was 200 euros per night! Truly, they will try anything. They actually had the audacity to say "but that's only about an extra 1400 euros!" They advertise daily events at the hotel like yoga with a time. Once you are leaving they inform you that there is a charge for it. It is not the charge that is upsetting but the tactics they employ. By the end of the stay you feel that the aim is to get as much out of you as possible like a pack of thieves. Don't be fooled by the photos and the gorgeous location. There are so many beautiful locations in the world. If you are looking for luxury or somewhere special - keep looking. This is just a pig with lipstick.
