Alma San Diego Downtown, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

I was in PR for a wedding and since I stayed at this hotel in San Diego before I knew I had to stay here. The location is great. You can access the shops restaurants all within a minimum of a 10 min walk. The room was clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating.

Staff are awesome here. Shout out to Sophia and Trey as well as the rest of the staff were always fun to converse with at the front desk. I always asked for water and they were more than happy to accommodate. Staff also helped recommend different places around the city and area to rollerskate which were all awesome. They do have a destination fee which I know can off put some guests but it’s a pretty common trend in SD I’ve found - their restaurant was excellent though so I found the money was never wasted. I chose to have their breakfast a net over ten times in total during my three separate stays, no complaints. The trolley noise does get a little loud with the occasional shouting of transients but I find that to be something the city is currently handling.

Had a great experience with this hotel! Room was comfortable and the balcony had a great view out to the city. Went to the bar for dinner and had a great time with both Rooster & Octavio! Both were super friendly and provided fantastic service.

My husband and I came and stayed last weekend for our anniversary. We had a really great experience. The hotel was clean & the staff was great, specifically Sophia at the front. She really went out of her way to make our experience memorable! She was helpful, knowledgeable & friendly. My husband is an ambassador with Marriott so we have stayed at a lot of different hotels the past 15+ years. Sophia stood out to us! We will definitely come back.

A special thank you to Yvette Martinez and Paula Arango-Quintero for helping arrange a room block and post wedding brunch for our son’s wedding. They were so easy to work with and accommodating in every way. The brunch was held in the beautiful Desmond room. Alfredo, the catering manager made sure every detail was perfect. The food was so delicious and the room was perfectly set up to accommodate our group. A special thank you to Mario and Jorge our amazing servers, and Heather our bartender who took such good care of all of us. The “soft landing” after the wedding was the perfect way to end the weekend. We can’t thank you enough!
