Room tired, air con broken, toilet made a loud humming noise all night.

This is a classic case of fading grandeur. Firstly, there is very little parking (4 cars) so if you arrive when these are taken you are directed to a secure multi-story carpark. This can be expensive as it charges until 6pm, then there is an overnight charge (£7:50) and a third charge after 8am. Cost me nearly £15. Then the rooms are tiny. Our double room had only 1 chair ... there was no room for a second one! We didn't eat there as there is a Wetherspoons 5 minutes away. One of the staff had very little English. Yes, it has been a grand place but it is now living on its laurels. Better can (easily) be found.

Lovely hotel, perfect location for the town center. Room was clean and extremely well equipped. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

Great location for bars and restaurants - literally a stone's throw from the hotel but the upside is that the hotel is in a quiet side street. A very grand entrance with a nice small bar to get drinks from. The room was on the first floor and had everything we needed. It was a warm evening but we decided not to put the aircon on and just opened the windows. Our room overlooked some sort of loading/parking bays which on a Saturday were not in use so the room was very quiet. We slept with the window open all night and heard nothing! We'd stay here again as it was great value for a great location.

Love this little place great value nice rooms good bathroom facilities with big fluffy towels. Nice breakfast made to order and very friendly

The hotel was central and close to town centre.All the staff were very polite, courteous, and helpful. I was blown away by having a 'bath' in my standard room. Also, having a 'Key' and not a card entry was a nice touch. Unfortunately there's was never a dedicated staff atthtb
