Cathedral Quarter Hotel - Derby

Hotel was fine but nothing special, not sure how it’s got 4*. Hairs in the bathroom and the air con didn’t work, view was also facing out to a wall. Room did have a fridge and a coffee machine and the bathroom’s fairly modern. Rooms could probably do with a revamp.

Lovely stay at this hotel.Very nice staff and nice comfortable stay.Great location for Derby city centre.

Rooms small, no fan or ac, one random light in the room. Ok to stay for 1 night convenience

The hotel receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and even printed some documents for me. The room was comfortable and cool (there was a heatwave at that time), and the bed was appropriately firm and crisp. Breakfast was excellent too. Full English but not overwhelming.

The hotel would have been a very nice stay in its day. However it’s tired…very tired. Stayed on 1st floor with a room with a window that backed onto the main staircase windows. This consisted of A/C units and pigeon crap. No idea what the A/C units did, as the room A/C was broken and blew hot air. The room was unbearably hot. But couldn’t open the window as pigeons crap/noise. The room is as very dark, and generally unwelcoming. The TV worked, but the bracket was bent so even watching tv needed to be at an angle. Shower holder was broken, must have been know as the hose was coiled around it. Only way to shower was holding it. Breakfast…disappointing. Orange juice in plastic cartoons and sticky. The food was not worth paying for, who has chips for breakfast. The hotel has random clothes rails/dead plants in pots dotted around, all in all just felt unloved and underfunded. Only stayed for a few days for work as normal hotel not available. Won’t be returning as other, better hotels, near by

Could be a lovely hotel. It needs a bit of tlc. We booked a superior double with king size bed, on arrival we asked if there were any upgrades. Which seemingly we were given for free ? When we went to our room it was small and pokey and not very nice at all. Complained at reception and we were then given the room we had booked( before upgrade) this was far more spacious and a better view. The air conditioning wasn't working in the hotel, but we did have a fan supplied, which helped. My wife went for a bath, then we couldn't get the plug out !! Breakfast wasn't to great either. No fruit or pastries. All in all, not a great place to stay. It could be as the close proximity to town is the reason we chose it. But definitely not 4 star. !!

No A/C. Room very hot!

It was a stunning hotel with some wonderful and friendly staff but I felt the rooms were too warm and repairs were needed. The bath didn't have a plug, and a couple of the plug sockets were broken. Whilst we had a nice experience, I felt the lack of repairs let it down.

Afternoon Tea - don’t bother. Booked an afternoon tea for a friends 50th having been before I knew it would be good. Apparently it has now changed hands. Sandwich fillings out of a tub. Shop bought scones. Tiny brownie out of a multi pack. Cookie out of a multipack and a chocolate mousse cut in half. Very very disappointed. Asked for another Prosecco as the one received was flat. Complete waste of money - very disappointing.

Period building, close to the town centre. Rooms are a bit tired but clean. Room on the small side and not enough space to put luggage or work. Air con was effective. The staff are amazing. Especially Iresh, Nipuna and Raveena that helped me out when I needed.
