Hotel Burgess

Very nice front desk person. However there is no housekeeping around to offer service to rooms. Also have to be patient with hot water. It takes about 10 minutes with the water running to get warm. This place has a beautiful old charm to it and its in a nice town. Was greated upon arrival and received help getting my bag up the stairs. Thank u again to the front office staff your kindness was appreciated.

All around cutrate. This historic hotel used to be so amazing. Sterile white room had ill fitting bottom sheet that came off to expose mattress every night. No top sheet. 2 very flat pillows, not enough to sit up and watch TV for 1 person let alone 2. Only 1 place to sit-desk chair. No where else to sit to watch tv, as the bed was out of the question due to lack of pillows. Towel hook fell off wall. No automatic room service. You had to go down stairs to ask for them to clean your room, and to give you toilet paper. Told to put toilet paper in trash can-yuck. Pink mildew in bathroom sink, and in shower. Probably because the fan was broken. Empty alcohol bottle under bed. Smoke alarm removed. Old, stained, scratched, nightstands. Pictures show decorative pillows, accent chair, and wall hangings- none. Constant heavy perfume smell when you walk in hotel was horrible. Way over priced. Paid $110 per night plus taxes for total of $120 night. Stayed a week, no discount. The only good things were the bed was comfortable, the front desk was friendly, and the hallways and stairs retained historic charm

Small hotel, with quaint and elegant decor. If you enjoy historical types of hotels this one’s perfect. And the staff are very friendly. Very clean despite the age of the building. Very well kept place. If you have a problem with stairs there is a staircase up to the rooms that isn’t wonderful for weak knees. But it has charm to say the least.

I would of given them 5 stars But the heater did not work and there was no hot water The room was nice but it was cold after calling room service he stated unit was pushing heat but it wasnt i asked if they had another room n he said he didnt think so No extra blankets were offered when i called in the morning about hot water n heat no one got back to us so we checked out

Checked my family in to find our room dirty. Floors and carpets were dirty with black clumps of hair. Requested a new room. The next room appeared to look clean until we pulled the sheets back to again find clumps of black hair on both beds. Manager gave us newly cleaned sheets but only to find more black hair. I have pictures! There is also no working smoke alarms in the rooms. We had no battery and it was not hard wired. My parents had a dead battery popped out and my sister did not even have a smoke alarm in her room. The hotel is above a smoke shop so we felt very unsafe. Needless to say we did not stay our second night.

Nicely maintained antique hotel. Unique place if you like older places that have been maintained. Everything was fine except for very poor water pressure

Took my grandma who is 77 years old. They had no elevators. Ended up calling ambulance that night since she started getting chest pain, shortness of breath do to stairs.

NO HOT water even after 20+ minutes and toilet paper roll broken so had to turn back behind me to get tissue . Ruined my getting ready for my 50th high school class reunion used a wash cloth in shower as water barely barely luke warm. Ughh !
