Hotel Burgess

There were so many long dark hairs on the bed, on the sink, on the nightstand…. Not sure if they just didn’t clean the sheets or if when the maid was cleaning her hair went everywhere? But I couldn’t sleep because all I could think about was that they didn’t clean the sheets. So I laid a towel over the pillow because there was a stain on that too.. otherwise nice old hotel because looks like it has history, just wish it was cleaner for our last minute stay on the way to Sequoia.

Really nice early 20th century style, wooden panels, hardwood floors! Friendly staff too!

The hotel is historic, which is cool and the location in downtown Reedley is nice. They don’t man the front desk so you have to call to make sure someone will be at the front desk to check you in and give you your room key. The rooms need some updating and house keeping needs to do a better job with the linens. Some towels looked soiled. My husband also killed a roach in the bath tub. The air-conditioner worked, thank goodness it was 105 degrees. The mini fridge came in handy.

Bathroom had no soap, hand towels and bathtub shower not clean! No hot water in the shower!!

Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed that the shower was dirty and not functioning properly. Additionally, there was long black hair on the bed. Despite arriving for check-in at 3pm, there was no one present, and I had to call for assistance, resulting in a 20-minute delay. However, they promptly resolved the issues with the room once they arrived.

Historical hotel, but could needs some maintenance.
