The Gables Hotel

The hotel has been well used , it would benefit from a lick of paint in places , cobwebs removed from public areas & a few more seating places in the public area . The hotel is in a nice & quiet location , with friendly staff . Hope this helps you deciding if it is the type of place for you .

Have stayed at hotel multiple times without issue. However the room we were in this time was very tired. The ceiling had a number of cobwebs hanging down and a very large crack running along the full length. The bathroom was clean but the bath and shower area had a lot of black mould growing on the wall and silicone.

Hotel was dated, bar area seats were stained and carpet dirty and disgusting! We were woken at 3am by 4 lads (all drunk) banging on the main door, shouting and yelling, threatening to break the door/smash the windows to get in-it clearly states in the room that the door is locked between 11pm and 7am. They finally gave up at 3.50am by which time I was frightened to go back to sleep.

We stayed at the Gables for 2 nights, while getting married in Gretna. Had 4 rooms booked. All rooms were comfortable and clean, the food was delicious and the staff couldn’t do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay again!

Fantastic staff - arrived a bit late but still had time for making sure i was comfortable Restaurant staff just as good Missed breakfast - my mistake - but the staff insisted i took a couple of bacon rolls with me !! a great find and will definitely stay here again Some parts of the hotel a little tired but it was brilliant value and made better by very attentive staff.

A nice night but room was a bit run down. Parking good but didn't use other facilities

This hotel was in a lovely quiet area...the staff we're very friendly the hotel was very clean and omg we had the best nights sleep the most comfortable bed ive slept in in a hotel and the room had everything we needed overall really lovely hotel
