Candlewood Suites Airport by IHG

My mother lives in South Bend so when I go to South Bend I’m always looking for a good place to stay I will stay at candlelight again the service was excellent the Employees were excellent

Staff was very friendly, bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

People were panhandling at the Hotel. I am disabled. There were no signs designating disability parking. On the ground there were faded blue painted wheelchairs indicating that it appeared to be “handicapped parking” there were no signs no posts to indicate the spot in front was in fact for handicapped. The cars that were parked in those spots none of them had placards and I don’t blame the people parking in those spots, there just wasn’t any signage. Last night we stayed at the LaCrosse WI, plenty of parking for all, the rooms were immaculate and the staff at LaCrosse were very kind. We continue to use Candlewood, but will never return to the South Bend site I didn’t feel safe and the parking was not acceptable.

The stay was good, however didn't like the fact my credit card was already charged for the stay and was not allowed to pay cash. The purpose of requesting pay at the hotel is why I chose this location. Left for the evening once returned no parking we made up our parking space. Otherwise the stay was great.

The stay was time well spent no noisy people on the same floor as you.

This room comes with a refrigerator that I needed to unplug at 2:30 a.m because of the noise. I was hardly sleeping anyway because of insect bites from the bed. It was a horrible night. When I checked out, I told the front desk person but he clearly didn’t care. Don’t stay here!

Staff was extremely pleasant and the hotel felt like a Four Seasons after the dump Super 8 we stayed in the previous night. Very clean and spacious rooms. Will be staying here again.

The room was very nice..a few things missed, towel behind the door and kitchen sink not rinsed after cleaning. Staff was amazing for check in and out! However the reservation process was a complete disaster! I went thru Hotels.com reserved 4 rooms, requested to pay on arrival ( it was a choice on the site) Two weeks prior to arrival the hotel tried to charge my card for all 4 rooms! I spoke with 3 different members of staff over 5 days several times and received a different answer from each person each time! One charge was able to go thru and it was lost in cyberspace for 5 days! Then the morning we were to arrive my card was hit 5 more times for the $50 incidentals charge before we even arrived! Again I called and told them another card would be used upon arrival and it was still hit 2 more times! Lastly each person placed their own card/payment for the room before arrival so their would be no more mistakes, yet at 10:30pm when the last of our party arrived she was told there was no room for her, even tho she had an email confirmation as well as a receipt for payment. Fortunately she was able to get a room, but the entire ordeal with your facility and lack of consistency make this place a NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!
