Location and looks nice on the outside.

Last morning staff were amazing, however the first day was not a great experience. Firstly, regarding the £10 deposit, I only had a £20 note and was told quite adamantly that no change was available, which made things awkward on arrival. In the room, there were no hangers or coffee cups provided, although there were tea and coffee facilities with a kettle available. Thankfully I checked the kettle before use, as the inside was brown and did not appear clean. The room overall was quite dusty. I initially thought it might just be me, but over the two days I could hear someone a few rooms away repeatedly sneezing as well. There also appeared to be black mould in the corners of the shower, along with cobwebs and a spider in the bathroom, which gave the impression the room had not been cleaned thoroughly.

Filthiness Cold Smells Its worse than a prison cell The shower doors were caked with brown dirt, stuck there for ages. Table coffee stains, dusty, carpets with fluff and thick dust and dirt. No curtains on window.

The historic character of the hotel & its good location

The hotel was dirty and badly maintained. The furniture was in poor condition and there were no bedside lights. There was a crowb of intimidating people at reception and the coffe machine didnt work. The room was very cold. There were some unsavoury looking characters staying in the hotel.
