Rodeway Inn & Suites Salina South

Pulling up to the hotel, we immediately noticed the overgrown landscape and poorly Maintained exterior of the building and instantly regretted booking a non refundable room. Although the front desk staff was very friendly, the lobby was in need of a deep cleaning and was poorly lit. Once in our room, it was obvious that it was not swept, dusted, or wiped down after the last guest. The pillows were yellow and heavily stained, and had no pillow covers in them. The pool was closed due to maintenance, the exercise room was locked up, and the guest laundry room had no appliances and was littered with trash. There's a part of the hotel that is dedicated for "long term guests" and it's obvious that more than just a few people live there. I took the steps down to the lobby instead of taking the elevator (oddly noisy when it moved) and almost stepped in cat feces on my way down. Once outside, looked down, only to notice that someone threw up their Cheerios right where my feet were. Exhausted, we went to sleep, woke up early, and started our drive back to Ohio 4 hours ahead of schedule, just happy to be out of that hotel. Breakfast was minimum, we didn't eat it. Definitely not a hotel I would ever recommend.

The hotel was dirty it was lacking cleanliness didn't even have an ice bucket didn't have nothing

The employee Richard was so nice & very helpful. Seemed understaffed quite a bit. The room was lacking a bit things like -the complementary shampoo & things - we got 2 lotions & a conditioner (easy mistake I get it) the ice bucket, lamps not plugged in, no shower mat towel & things like that. The curtains seemed to be pretty old with thin spots & could've been needing to be reenforced to the wall, the shower curtain needs to be redone it wouldn't stay closed. I know it's a low priced place which wasn't horrible but just know that it is not going to be perfect.

Issues because the clerk didn't do something right, check in took 25-30 minutes at 1am. I was the only one there.

This property was dirty the tv didn't shut off the air conditioner didn't change. And 1 set of towels for a king suite. And the management was outside drinking with other guest when i needed something i had to go find him out there. And housekeepers quit so no rooms were ready by 3 pm

The bathtub wouldn't stay stopped long enough to take a bath. The pool wasn't working front desk staff said it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time!! Not enough towels for everyone. The breakfast consisted of frozen biscuits and luke warm gravy. Best thing about this place was the coffee!!

If you are on a tight budget and need some where cheap to sleep for the night this might be your place. If you can afford to avoid this place -- do, there are several other options in the area! The front desk clerk was drunk when we checked in at 4:00 on a Thursday. My husband and father had to help him up of the floor not once but twice. The room my husband an I were in was out dated but clean enough. However there were no towels or ice buckets. The room we reserved for my parents smelled heavily of weed and also had no towels. The best I can say for this hotel is that it's cheap and there weren't any bed bugs. Breakfast is scarce to non-existant. There is a crockpot of gravy that appears to have been sitting on the counter for the last several weeks. The public restrooms next to the breakfast area didn't have paper towels and they weren't refilled all weekend. The doors also didn't lock. Pool is broken and clerks didn't act like it would be fixed. The "business center" housed 2 old mattresses and several other maintenance items. We visit family in Salina often and we will not be back to the Rodeway Inn.

We stopped in here on our way back through, and honestly, I’m glad it was only one night. I read reviews and called to make sure breakfast and the pool would both be open. I was told that yes, BOTH, were open. I asked a few more times to make sure. He reassured me that they would be. We made it here, checked in, and started our walk around. The pool-that I was reassured multiple times would be open-had a paper sign posted that it was closed. And the lovely breakfast he also reassured me we’d be having, is cold (I mean, COLD) biscuits and lukewarm gravy. OH! And a couple bagels just chilling on the counter. Nothing to put on them, though, so I wouldn’t bother. Let’s talk about the room itself. Upon check-in, we were given the wrong room. No big, talked to the receptionist and she moved us to the correct room. TV wasn’t working, but after a quick call to the desk and a quick trip from the receptionist, we were fixed. I won’t call this the worst hotel, but it’s gotta be the worst one I’ve stayed at.

Stay was ok. Not within walking distance to any shopping but not too far by car. Lots of available parking. Front desk staff was very friendly. Hotel in ok shape overall, older and hasn't been updated. Our room was ok. The bed was clean and comfortable. The rest of the furniture was just dated and in line with a 2 star off the highway type of hotel. We felt safe while here. We used no amenities and were not aware of any. We just slept and left early.

The hotel is understaffed. When we checked in after 5 p.m. our room wasn't ready. We waited 35 minutes & I requested to inspect the room first. The condition of the main floor lobby was disgusting & I had no plans to stay if the room was in the same condition. Luckily it wasn't. Threadbare but clean
