The Beaufort Inn

We have stayed here about (7) times. We love this property, it was PINK in color and when we arrived and saw it painted White were surprised because for us it was such a statement in it's PINK color. I am mentioning this in case you have stayed there before but were confused by the photo in white. It is the best location and has several room options for all occasions. Staff just smiles and ask how your stay is going, it is just so friendly and wonderful. We love that there are a few pet friendly options as we travel with our sweet boy. Breakfast is included and is standard but has a few extras, like sausage and gray and biscuits. We don't eat this as we are watching our shapes but it is a nice southern option to offer. The INN used to give vouchers to a few eatery's in town but now they have it in house which is nice. Bikes are great to ride through the historic streets or walk as well. It is just a lovely place.

This place checks all the boxes, and then some!! It's more like a compound, than a hotel as there are numerous buildings and cottages woven through lovely grounds with comfy sitting areas. The main hotel is gorgeous, with a substantial area for the breakfast service, a library with a large puzzle table, and a grand staircase (plus elevator). We stayed in a 2 queen unit in one of the "townhouses" on the grounds. Comfortable room with a HUGE shower, soft sheets and comfy beds. AC worked well, and the rocking chairs on the porch were a nice touch. Breakfast was simple, but yummy. Biscuits with optional gravy. Blueberry scones that were to die for. Bacon, yogurt and Chai pudding with granola, coconut and fresh fruit. The coffee was available all day, with juices in the AM. The courtyard seating was a nice place to visit with other guests, or plan your day! The staff was exemplary!! From check in to the room attendants, they were very engaging and helpful. The hotel is right in the heart of town, with a parking lot adjacent thats free to guests. We will definitely be returning to this lovely place!!

The Inn was nice but had some things to improve on. We stayed in a Deluxe King. The room was spacious but needed a few improvements. The curtains were falling off the rods in several places. The baseboards were dusty. It was dusty along the back side of bed and had a paper wrapper wedged behind headboard. The reason I know this was because I dropped my phone. The shower grout had black mold. It was a good location and very close to tour activities and restaurants. I must say that the breakfast was lacking. Ate there the first day put passes on day two. Brown and serve grocery store biscuits. No eggs no bagels no cereal. Served very salty deli ham. Did have sausage gravy but not convinced it was homemade?? The worst breakfast I have ever received at B&B. I paid over $300 dollars a night. My daughter stayed at Inn 5 years ago and at that time they gave vouchers for local breakfast. they need to go back to that method if they cannot improve on breakfast.🙁

This hotel, which markets itself as a 5-star establishment, falls short of that rating. I would rate it a 3-star B&B. Room 10, formerly occupied by Julia Roberts, had peeling wallpaper and antiquated (but not coolly so) bathroom fixtures. The furnishings were chipped and scuffed, and there were no bathrobes, slippers, body lotion, and only three small towels for two guests. However, the bed was at least comfortable. The breakfast was disappointing. The ham was leathery and served in a Dutch oven, and the grocery store boiled eggs were unappetizing. The preserves were good, but that was the only positive aspect of the meal. Furthermore, the hotel claims to have 47 rooms, but there was only seating for a maximum of 25 guests for breakfast, if even that. Overall, I was disappointed with the hotel. The website looks wonderful, but the actual experience fell short of the advertised images.
