The Beaufort Inn

We decided to splurge on one night in a resort during our road trip and had high expectations for The Beaufort Inn given online reviews. What a disappointment. The room was not clean. I tried to phone Front Desk for help but the phone system was broken. Then I walked to the Front Desk in the rain; the staff was indifferent and did not assist. After driving all day we ended up scouring the toilet ourselves. The tv also didn’t work. A fellow guest mentioned that when he ran out of toilet tissue he was informed a new shipment would t arrive until the next day; he was flabbergasted. Maybe drive two blocks to Walmart? At breakfast, nearly every food container was empty and it took far longer than appropriate to refill them. The location is excellent and the grounds are lovely but this stay was a nightmare.

Beautiful old main house with several adorable cottages scattered on the grounds. Seems the Inn owns almost an entire square block in historic downtown. Easy walking access to everything. The room in our cottage was homey and clean. Daily breakfast was simple with outstanding biscuits along with yogurts, cereals, breakfast meats etc. One rare freezing morning a kitchen pipe broke so they provided vouchers to nearby restaurants. The staff including the main desk, breakfast providers and cleaning crew were beyond excellent. Looking forward for another reason to visit Beaufort.

What a beautiful historic property in the heart of Beaufort! The staff was VERY helpful and friendly the entire visit (three nights). We stayed in the main Inn and had a large room / suite on the 2nd floor that was serviced by an elevator. Quiet room with a comfortable bed and soft linens. Continental breakfast was good each morning. Liked free parking and a free pass to Hunting Island State Park. Fantastic location walkable to everything in the downtown area. Would recommend this property and would love to return to Beaufort. LOTS of history in this city!

Everything

We hadn't been to the Inn in 3 years. It was as charming and lovely as ever. I went with my husband and sister to celebrate my birthday. We had two separate bedrooms - one queen, one king with a Jack and Jill bathroom in between. Very comfortable. The sitting area outside the bedrooms was adequate but dark, would have been nicer if we'd had our own living room. John was still there and wonderful. They've added a breakfast at the Inn - previously we were given vouchers to use at nearby restaurants. Having breakfast in was better! The weekend breakfast staff were great. The Inn is walking distance to everything - the main town, the Historic District, the River. Beaufort is a wonderful, charming historic town. Annual Oyster Festival was going on while we were there. We will stay at the Inn again when we return. Recommend it to everyone!

The staff members were friendly and went above and beyond to make sure I had the best possible experience.

I should have asked housekeeping for tissues instead of assuming they would notice that they were almost empty.

We stayed one night here and truly loved our accommodations. Huge suite, bed & room. Besides all that we had a nice greeting, good directions from the wonderful staff. My all time favorite was the towels! So nice, plush, clean & huge. Plenty of warm water. All around I highly highly recommend you try to stay here.
