The hotel was closed as it had been taken over for asylum seekers, I had no correspondence to say that had happened, very had to quickly find another hotel, ended up paying a lot more for a room.

"We weren’t allowed into the hotel"

We were turned away later at night as the hotel wasn’t open for guests. Very distressing as we struggled to get a room anywhere else as it was 10pm on a Saturday night. We will be contacting you soon about compensation and refund of our money. It looks like it houses migrants now.

Hi. Holiday inn central is now an asylum seeker venue and hasn't been a bookable hotel for 3 years. They have told us to go to Ashford international. Could I please have a refund. This is disgusting and apparently isntt the first time it has happened. Can I request that you remove this hotel from your site. I would appreciate my money being refunded immediately and a good will gesture also. Your complaints details would also be helpful. Thank you Kind regards Stacey Jordan 14:41

Deze accommodatie is dicht en je krijgt hier geen bericht over. Pas als je er naar vraagt, krijg je de volgende reactie. Dus gewoon niet boeken. Dear Sender, Thank-you for contacting the Holiday Inn Ashford Central. Our hotel is currently closed due to an exclusive use contract and as such will be closed up until the end of March 2026. It has been closed for 3 years to house asylum seekers and yet still bookable on this site!! We were lucky to find alternative accommodation at 10om on a Friday night with kids at the start of the school holidays. No response from booking.com. Will be very wary in the future of booking through booking.com. poor service
