Convenient location

It looked a bit shabby in places, the lifts get a lot of use but they were a bit grubby need a regular clean. Room was spotlessly clean but just very tired looking, could do with a bit of love.

Having had poor experiences of IHG hotels, I was surprised that the reviews all focused on the friendliness of the staff and the great service. However, it really was so! Also, homemade Welsh cakes whilst waiting to check in - how lovely! I had dinner as well as breakfast and both were excellent. I was especially impressed with both the range and quality of the breakfast fare, in particular because it was nearing the end of service. I really wish the IHG hotel near me, where my 90 year old mother-in-law stays when she visits, was like this.

The only downside was the tiny bathroom. The extra-small bath was crammed next to the toilet, meaning it was exceptionally difficult to get in and out of. My 90 year oldmother-in-law would have had no chance of a shower, and you certainly couldn't have bathed a child. Also, the shower curtain didn't even reach the top of the bath, so the floor got soaking wet.
