Villa Bellagio Amboise

The weather was very hot and the rooms do not have air conditioning

What a great little spot! It's authentically French and you're out in the country so it feels organic - only bad thing was I couldn't stay longer!

A strange hotel that's both falling apart and being built at the same time. Our unit sat about 1/4 of a mile from the main building along a narrow road with deep ditches on either side -- drive carefully! The suite was sweltering and stale, and home to several hundred very friendly ants. They seemed to live in a crack in the poorly-built countertop. Perhaps they knew who killed the enormous flying insect smeared on the window at the top of the stairs, but I couldn't get them to talk. The Villa is a dump. Move along and find something nicer -- something cleaner.

More like a small quadreplex complex than a hotel. Front desk is no help. They tell you that you need to lug your bags a half mile to your room, when in fact, you can drive to the room. Very odd layout. You are in the middle of the country. 7 minute drive to Amboise. Good things are it was quiet, new and big breakfast area. Very few tenants when we were there.

Like a long term stay rental. Had a kitchen which enabled us to cook in our residence if we chose to. Great home base for visiting area Chateaux. Looks relatively new. The restaurant staff was very friendly.

The hotel is far away from the city center and there is no bus around. It is better if you have a car; otherwise, you have to walk for like 30 to 40 minutes to the city center (it is a nice walk still). It costs around 15 euros from train station to the hotel by taxi. When I first go into my room; the floor is not very clean and there were hairs in the tubs. The room is big and do have kitchen so it is good for family trip. The staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel does offer bike renting but it normally run out after noon; and the hotel allow you to make a reservation with taxi but make sure you do it in a day advance.

A grouping of 4plex apartments with a center office/restaurant.......our apartment was clean, quiet and had all of the amenities for a visit....stove, frig, dish washer etc....had dinner one night at the restaurant.....one meal was excellent but wife's steak unedible. Waiter also said that bill could not be put on room account and demanded payment now! When I talked to front desk the next day they could not understand why he did that!

This was our fourth stay at this hotel. The location is perfect for visiting chateaus in the area. We prefer to prepare and cook our meals so the kitchen is one of the main reasons that we stay here. The rooms are very comfortable, quiet, and clean.

What a strange place! Our apartment was clean and comfortable and a good 5minute walk from reception. It couldn't have been further away. The other reviewers have said many of the things we would like to say. The kitchen was well set out, but totally useless as there were no pots, pans, cutlery etc. not even a kettle. The internet was useless even in the reception area. It is highly unlikely that we would stay there again. The staff were friendly, but, unhelpful. Amboise is a lovely town, with an interesting Chateau and Clos Luce (Da Vinci's) museum to visit. It's a good central location for a cultural tour.

We have stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment in the end of September 2014 for 1 night to see the 2 castles: Chateau Abmoise ( 5 km from hotel) and Chateau de Chenonceau (11 km from hotel). The property met our best expectations. It is built as a group of townhouses with bedrooms upstairs and family room/kitchen/bathroom on the ground floor. Beds were comfortable, space adequate, plenty of utensils and kitchen equipment, friendly staff. Good water stream, stable Wi-Fi. The only little thing we found missing was the fan in the bathroom to defog the mirror for shaving after shower. The place is ideal if you have a vehicle, so you could reach any place in the vicinity without paying a fortune. They have free parking. The walking paths are covered with sand so we got lot of yellow stuff inside our car when leaving.
