Villa Bellagio Amboise

We had been to Amboise before so knew that there was quite a bit to do in and around the town. It is a lovely part of the Loire Valley.The hotel was just right for an overnight stay. It was different being in an apartment in blocks around the site. We had booked a family room but we had to set up the sofa bed. When we got into the room it looked like it was just for 2. It was clean and well furnished. I had already read reviews and so knew not to expect crockery or utensils, etc, but otherwise well equipped with hobs, microwave and a dishwasher (not that there were any plates!!) Served us well for the night!!

Comfortable room, beds good, linen nice, lots of towels each day, no toilet paper on arrival, missing some bowls and cutlery but enough kitchen ware to cook a meal. Swimming Pool is basic and needs more chairs for adults to sit around pool, small jumping castle at dinner time was a hit with the kids. Food and service in the restaurant was good and reasonable price, large meals! Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel grounds are barren and need gardens to improve the environment. A few more kids activities would be good - like a playground. No Laundry facilities! Amboise is a beautiful town. Comfy hotel for our family without being too expensive. Could be a great family hotel if it had more facilities.

We visited the Amboise chateau, the city and the Da Vinci home. We enjoy Amboise because of the ambiance of the old downtown and good restaurants

Great location and pool but the beds were tiny and the self-catering facilities had not been well cleaned (dirty plates and pots). There was also a pretty nasty smell in parts of the little apartment and no toilet paper was provided.

It was clean and new, but immediately reminded us of a suburbian development that run out of money to finish it properly. The parking is assigned by main building, which would be impossible for handicapped/aged persons because the ground is huge and each "home" is scattered all over the ground. There is a deep ditch for water run, unfinished,in front of each unit that prevents two cars pass each other. Had a kitchenette with brand new appliances. Staff was helpful.

This is the second time in a month I've got to complain to Hotels.com for advertising a vacation rental/apartment as a hotel. This is an apartment on a complex mainly used by longer term holiday makers, as such some of the amenities you'd come to expect from a hotel like air conditioning, hairdryers, any form of room/maid service just aren't available. They also expect you to park your car what could be up to a 200m from your room (which I ignored). The rooms are okay in themselves and we had a double bed and a fold out sofa bed which when we pulled out had dirty bedding on it. One plus point, the reception staff were fantastic and the man working when we were there (evening of 26th July) was excellent at helping us out). I'd be hard pressed to return here.

More of a condo with living room and bedroom. Nice amenities and modern decorations. Not actually in Amboise, but only a couple of minutes away, on the main way. With lots of room, great for extended stay.

Not a comfortable stay. The hotel picture does not represent where you will be staying. Duplex/Triplex units are all unfinished without walkways leading to the front door, ie., mud and dirt are tracked in. Very isolated and very unnerving when you look out of the window and see only a few lights at night. We will not be staying there again. One positive was the breakfast.

Central location to several castles, including blois, chenonceau,. When i got into my room, i had to go up one flight of twisted stairs, but the room was very good and very good value for the area.

We stayed at a studio for three nights in September 2012. The front desk staff was very welcoming. Our cottage was better than expected. We had twin beds and a sofa bed; the beds were very comfortable. The kitchenette was more than adequate and included a stove top with two electric burners, a microwave, dishwaher, mini-fridge, toaster, coffee maker, glasses, plates, bowls, and utensils. The location makes a car essential, but it is very easy to find and extremely convenient for chateau touring.
