Villa Bellagio Amboise

Great location for visiting chateaus and seeing the region. Looks impressive when you arrive, but the roads are unfinished, rubbish piled everywhere, gardens not looked after so weeds galore. Suggestions for improvement - small gravel area to the rear of each apartment with a table and chairs, finish the roads. We stayed for a week and found the kitchen facilities basic at best. Upsides - clean, tidy, daily towel changes, nice bar and pool area.

Great place to stay, very comfortable and clean. The WiFi did not work in the rooms just in the reception area.

Apartment fine but tired and so is the hotel in general.Not really cared for. Very noisy with children. Reception staff very nice and helpful. No ENGLISH T.V PROGRAMMES at all for the week we were there and there is nothing to do unless you drive into Amboise or spend money on food. There is table tennis. Our apartment smelt of babies soiled nappies which never went away. If you plan on looking at chateaux they are expensive and so is the food so take a picnic

Stayed 1 night (Saturday) with my family (husband and 2 children, 11 years old and 8 years old). We had our own mini apartment, double bed and sofa bed with small kitchen, fridge and dishwasher, separate toilet and bathroom. We had a delightful stay, swan in the pool (albeit a little cold) the children loved the bouncy castle and table football and generally making friends with the other children. In the evening we stayed for the BBQ and enjoyed listening to a guitarist and singer. BBQ was a little expensive €25 Euro adult €9.90 child but there was a buffet starter and dessert with choice of fish and meat on the BBQ. In the morning we had the buffet breakfast and the children particularly liked the pancakes and waffles. A small cooked breakfast, along with continental breakfast with cereals were offered. Supermarket 2 mins drive down the hill from the hotel to pick up provisions, also has pharmacy if required. We'd recommend Villa Bellagio!

A beautiful quiet spot for a few day away. Very good value for money. The villas are really well set out with plenty of space and a little balcony . Whilst the villa was clean in the main areas, cupboards etc could have done with a clean. The outside area was pretty but more could be done to improve . The wifi didn't work during our stay for more than a few minutes which was a shame. Local area was nice, shops within a 5 /10 minute drive. Overall we really enjoyed staying here , Nice quiet and relaxing couple of days.... however at the end of our stay we had a mix up with late check out, we paid the taxes and were told the day before that it was ok at reception. After being asked to leave on checkout day a few times and explaining we were told late check out was ok, we had to leave and when I handed in the key at reception was greeted by an extremely rude lady , we apologised for any confusion and explained we paid the tax and whom the girl was I spoke with. she was very rude with no apology whatsoever . This really spoiled it for us as we had a lovely stay overall.

Pleasant separate cottages per two families each. No place for two people, so my wife and I paid the same rate as our daughter's family of four. The restaurant is very slow, with overpriced small portions. We spent there almost two hours and left rather hungry.

Very poor service. Our bathroom smelt terrible and the reception man was not interested. Offered no apologies and no Compo.

Two night stop over for family of five. Reception nicely laid out and staff helpful, giving map to Amboise and other info. Apartment good size for us with 2 tv areas and kitchen equipped with pots and pans etc. (No cloths though). Slight smell by the entrance and would have been good if could have used balconies (these are a little tired looking to say the least). Supermarket not far and hotel has nice restaurant and bar (can also order bread and croissants the night before to pick up in the morning). Amboise is a lovely town and all the family really enjoyed Clos de Luce. Pool not the biggest but good to have and was also table tennis and a bouncy castle for younger ones.

nice and clean hotel. Spacious, good food, but no air conditioner. It was hot during our stay there. It was okay if we leave the windows and doors open since it was a little bit cold outside during the night, but we were afraid since there was not enough lighting in the premises.

Hotel seems geared for convention groups and new to area people planning to stay for few months.There was outdoor swimming pool.They have a main hotel but in back cottages with 4 units apiece.We were given the farthest from hotel cottage 800 meters away(need a car to get to)though whole areas closer seemed unoccupied.Spooky in a way.My husband left post first night so particularly eerie alone.The front door was extremely difficult to use.No instructions but did lift handle up and managed by various combo tries to open/shut.I really became locked inside so hand to go out by bedroom door on last day leaving.I told management so they could go back and secure.Yes there was a fine refrig.,stove and coffee maker but no utensils or coffee cups:just a few cereal bowls and glasses.No hair dryer
