Comfort Hotel

Fantastic location for all main sights. Clean and comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely stay again.

The hotel on the second and third floors was small and a little bit cramped. But the hotel was nice. The staff spoke English, albeit not perfect. But were very willing to "google" some printed words if they were unsure of the Russian equivalent......ie. "Ferry" I was a little bit upset, so watch out for the "the hotel OFFERS a transfer" from the train station to the hotel. The driver meeting us at the station was great, but at check out I was hit with a 700 ruble charge. Hailing a cab at the station would have cost me half that fee. (I learned this in Russia, If the hotel asks you can we get you a cab, they charge you twice as much. Going out to the street and yelling taxi is not that tricky. The breakfast was at a pizza place next door. It worked out ok, but of the three hotels in Russia, this was the worst.

Nestled amidst 5 star hotels like W Hotel and the Astoria, Comfort Hotel is as it names says - a true comfort. The friendly reception staff are everwilling to answer any queries and will go the extra mile to source information for sights off the beaten track. I wanted to try a traditional Russian Bath and they found me one within walking distance from the hotel! Location wise, it is walking distance to Nevsky Prospekt, St Issac's Cathedral and the Winter Palace (Hermitage). I did not even have to take the Metro! Rooms are simple but very clean (especially the bathrooms) and it suited me perfectly because I just need a place to crash after all the sight seeing. Breakfast is adequate and served at a small restaurant a few doors away from the hotel. Do not expect a lavish spread but the items are enough to fill you up with cheese, slices of ham and croissants and toast. I would definitely stay here again givent he chance to visit St Petersburg again. Ultimately, it was the staff and the service that makes this a 5 Star hotel in my eyes!

Excellent and very helpful receptionists. Breakfast, although in a nearby restaurant, was perfectly good. Hotel is very close to the main street Nevsky Pr, and close to many of the main historic places.

This hotel provides excellent value in a superb location. St Petersburg is a great walking city and the metro is very efficient and this hotel could not be better positioned for access to all areas either on foot or using the metro, Admiraltyskaya metro station is very close. I had a classic double room for one person which I am sure would have been fine also for two persons. The reception was staffed 24hrs by a rotation of young and helpful people. Breakfast is taken at an Italian restaurant just a few steps away, I have read some negative comments about this possibly from people expecting rather too much for a mini hotel and personally I found it quite acceptable with a choice of hot dish and a basic cold platter but just let down by tepid coffee. The coffee machine was available round the clock in a comfortable reception room in the hotel and there is a good choice of inexpensive restaurants in the vicinity though sometimes hidden away in basements or in a hidden courtyard, try Tieplo also on Bolshaya Morskaya, same side as hotel but on the other side of St Isaacs Square and Telemok between the hotel and metro station for a pancake snack. I booked my arrival transfer through Expedia and used the hotel's transfer service on my return journey, both of which were very efficient.

Perfect location (very close to the top sights, restaurants and a metro), but it probably costs half or less of what you would pay at other nearby hotels. Best staff ever.

Located a five-minute walk from the nearest metro, and within walking distance of almost everything in the city, comfort hotel (not to be confused with comfort inn, its american namesake) is a find. large, spacious rooms with all the heat and hot water in frigid february in st. petersberg. helpful, accommoating staff; complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits available in lobby 24/7.

Room is clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. They even helped me to print a one-page document and scan for free. Room has a phone and is free to use. The room has internet and is fast. Breakfast is good. This is an excellent hotel.
