Comfort Hotel

The hotel is very well located. Although on a main road we never noticed noise from the traffic. It is a small hotel, and provision is only B&B, but they serve free hot/cold drinks and biscuits throughout the day in breakfast room/lounge. The staff are courteous and go out of their way to make your stay a good one. We were travelling with a young child, and had a separate put-up bed for the child. I tested their service, as I had problems the first night due to people in neighbouring room smoking in the room and it coming through to our room. This is a no-smoking establishment, but these people were either inconsiderate or just didn't understand the rules. The hotel was fully booked, so they couldn't change our room, but they brought an room ioniser, and called on the neighbours to remind them of hotel policy. Luckily these guests left later that night, and things were fine after that. The staff were helpful and considerate throughout.

a five-minute walk from the nearest metro , a seven -minute walk from the hermitage, and a three-minute walk from the #3 bus which articulates with virtually everything in the city, the place is ideally located. the prospect is a two-block walk, and the area abounds with restaurants of all kinds. while the hotel has no restaurant of its own, italian and russian varietals are located immediately to the right and left of the hotel. subway, macdonalds, and burger king are within walking distance. fresh coffee, tea, and cookies are available in the lobby 24/7. outstanding staff. my only reservations is that there is no variety whatsoever in the breakfast, and the hotel could/should have more than on tv station in english. on the other hand, i was the only english-speaking guest in the hotel. if /when i return, i would certainly stay there.

Great hotel, great location, lovely reception staff

Room with two beds turned out to be a two room suite. Breakfast was also better than expected and they had a coffee/hot chocolate machine available at all times.

Loved it at that hotel

Staff could not have been better. Especially Inna at the desk. We had problems getting in touch with our tour guide, and she kept at it calling and finally making the tour happen. She also arranged for our transport to the airport. Everyone there was great. Hotel very close to the metro which made getting their easy from the train station. Jerome's right next door had excellent food and very friendly wait staff. Enjoyed going two evenings to the ballet, Hermitage Theatre and Mikhailovsky Theatre were both great. Inside the Church on the Spilt Blood was absolutely amazing. The people of St Petersburg were much more friendly and helpful that Moscow. And many more spoke at least some English which helped. Moscow can be very difficult in this regard.

good hotel with exellent location, however its overpriced

The hotel is good for families. We had 4 of us stay for 3 nights, and this hotel is located only a couple of blocks from Nevsky Prospekt on one side, the Hermitage north, and St Isaacs Cathedral to west. There are plenty of nearby restaurants and banks. It's not a fancy hotel, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast arrangements at the restaurant next door (included) were good. The reception staff even gave us a lovely gift at the end of the stay - a book of Russian art!

This hotel is ideally located in the centre of St Petersburg and most sights are walkable. The room was comfortable and clean with extra touches that I did not expect from a budget hotel (slippers, free tea/coffee/biscuits in the adjacent lounge). The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was in the italian cafe next door. It was adequate with a choice of hot and cold food but the service was not friendly! Due to the cold weather outside the hotel rooms were well-heated but this was not controllable so it did become extremely hot. The only solution was to put the air conditioning on to cool down which did not seem very environmentally friendly! Overall though I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The room was ok. However we needed to stay an extra night and discovered the Hotel in the same building but just above Comfort Hotel was far superior at about the same cost
