"Good city hotel"

8.0

Nice clean hotel. Very helpful and friendly owners and staff. The location is great for walking into the old town for a wander or meal at night, try Concordia restaurant. Rooms are quite large and comfortable. Agrigento traffic can be very busy but the hotel is near the station and then just down Via Acrone. Got the bus to Valley of Temples easy.

"Exceptional"

10.0

Hotel is just a few paces from the train station (kind of hidden behind a Europcar outlet) in the centre of Agrigento. I thought the hotel was good value for money with friendly staff.

"Not a good stay"

4.0

The only good thing about this hotel is it's lobby area, newly decorated with a modern feel and clean. The room, on the contrary, is old, crowded and feels like it hasn't been upgraded for a long time. Staff, in general, are not friendly. Location wise it is pretty good - within walking distance to busy shopping streets and restaurants.

"Clean, no character, large room, good location"

6.0

There was only one thing we wanted to see in Agrigento - the Valley of the Temples. It made the 2h40m bus trip across Sicily well worth it. After a 20 minute walk (10 min if you know where to go) from the bus station we arrived at Hotel Amici. A previous post had it right - walk to the train station and look for the green EuroCar sign.. Taking the city bus to the Temples and adjacent museum was simple - buy your going/return bus tickets at the bar inside the train station and catch the Line 1, 2 or 3 bus just outside (and very near the Hotel Amici) to go down the hill. About the hotel itself; the breakfast didn't have much to offer and the tired funishings seemed out of the 1970s and the TV only had Italian channels, but the receptionist was friendly and helpful even after we accidentaly locked our key in the room.

"Close to the train station"

6.0

The Hotel Amici was a one night stay so we could see the Valley of the Temples. Our room was sparse, but clean. We arrived by bus, so it is a 10 -15 minute walk from the bus terminal. It is, however, right across the street from the train station. The receptionist was very helpful with a map and directions to the Kalos restaurant. The breakfast included a few extras beyond the normal continental breakfast....fresh fruit and a choice of breads. Amici is basic, but it also has a modest price.

"A comfortable hotel."

6.0

The bathroom seemed to have a leaking water issue as there were pools of water along one wall. Also used shampoo sachets from previous guest still in bathroom when I checked in. But overall room clean and comfortable.

"no charm"

4.0

This hotel has no charm at all. The decor of the rooms is depressing. The location is convenient, but the place has the aura of the car rental firm that is shares the building with. The room was dusty, the matrass lumpy, and the shower absurdly small (allthough the bathroom itself was big enough). The satellite tv had not a single non-italian channel. There was wifi in the lobby, but no internet anywhere else, not even for a fee. Breakfast is included, but consist of luke warm tea or coffee, and bread or biscottes with jam - no butter, cheese, ham, yoghurt or anything else.

"Not bad....not good...."

6.0

Hotel Amici is decent for a one night stay...and that's about it. The room was clean enough, the air con worked well, but the bathroom was quite disgusting (mold on the walls, peeling plaster). Good enough location (literally across from the road from the train station and down the street from the bus station). Close to pedestrian areas. Breakfast was cheap and selection was limited.

"Agrigento was made more beautiful by Amici"

8.0

Loved our stay in Agrigento, made all the better by Hotel Amici. The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially the lady on reception who gave us the name of the fabulous restaurant Kalós across the road in Piazzetta San Calogero. This was the best food we had in Sicily. The only downside to Hotel Amici was breakfast and some other noisy guests . The first morning we had an OK breakfast but the coffee was TERRIBLE! The second morning there was no juice or water and only a few over ripe peaches. The young girl looking after the breakfast room didn't seem to care. Also on our last night there, some other guests came in at 1am and were very loud, this went on until after 2am and they were not asked by reception to be quiet. I know this might seem like a negative review but we were very happy over all with our stay and we loved Agrigento.
