Valley Ford Hotel

Very quiet. Nice to be in a small town. Close to ocean. We had our motorcycle with us and area was perfect for riding. Not used to town closing at 9p coming from a 24 hour city. Loved the atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Great place in the Petaluma countryside to stay!

I was scheduled to stay at the Valley Ford with the "girls" from my family (4 of us). We arrived for check in at 3:15pm and found it all locked up, no notes, no keys, nothing. The phone numbers got no response. We stayed elsewhere.

We stopped for one night and ate at the restaurant too. Comfortable room and good food.

Hotel was lovely and the room, while basic, was attractive. I would put a rubber bathmat in the shower as it was slippery and I fell.

Food was tremendous. Oysters were fresh and plentiful

This was our second visit to Valley Ford. Each time was truly wonderful. The only hiccup that we had this time was our window wouldn't open, but the hotel staff quickly offered us a different room. Rooms are cozy and clean, free coffee and tea in the morning. No distractions. Sometimes we felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. We missed out eating at Rocker Oysterfellers both times, but it's on our to do list for next time. Bartender gave a fantastic breakfast recommendation- Wild Flour Bread. That's a must and just a 10 minute drive. Beautiful gardens and delicious bread and scones. Lunch at Hog Island too. Perfect weekend.

Lovely little hotel in a beautiful spot. The restaurant downstairs was excellent and has a lively crowd, even mid-week. Staff was very friendly and low-key. This is a great little getaway from the city and provides easy access to so many beautiful places along the coast. We had a sunset walk along Dillon's beach and were back at the hotel in time for dinner (they stop serving at 8). Spent the next day hiking at Point Reyes. Do yourself a favor and pick up some local smoked salmon for a picnic lunch from the market across the street -- it's outstanding. Perfect one night vacation.
