Valley Ford Hotel

loved the area. Fire delayed our arrival by several hours and on premise management had left for evening but our key and check in information was available.

this place is just okay. we stayed for the weekend because of the close proximity to the coast. Just an fyi before you go, this place has no AC. Not their fault but we did not realize this before we booked. My advice to VFH would be to add an extra fan in the room. There wasn’t much to do in Valley Ford, and the environment of the whole town wasn’t super welcoming. When we arrived we spoke to 2 people who were super nice, but seemed like a chance encounter and were never around any other employees after that. The room was okay. Decorated kinda plainly but fit the theme of the hotel. On our last day, we had to take a cold shower as well. They might not have a large water heater but that’s something we think they should’ve disclosed. No breakfast, understandable because of COVID. The restaurant was an hour wait to eat, so we didn’t get the chance to try it. Definitely not a hotel or b and b, more like renting a room. Not the best spot for young people, can see the appeal for older crowds.

very quaint. nice clean room. no tv or stairs. continental breakfast was good. owners were very nice. the hot water gets very hot so be careful.

As one from the East Coast I was pleasantly surprised to see a copy of the New York Times by the breakfast coffee machine.

Best location for us on this trip. Did the trick for us.

We could not get anyone to answer the phone to find out how to get there. On the answering machine it says they’re closed on Wednesdays. Our reservation was for Wednesday night. We gave your phone number on the answering machine no one ever called us back. The directions are confusing with GPS and we needed to speak with someone. Very disappointed. They have my credit card number and my money, I’m calling to have the charge dropped. Horrible

Warm feeling when staying here. Like Grandma’s house. I would stay again. The negative reviews come from folks who lacked a closeness to grandparents.

Some of the choices I made might seem worse than it really was. Place was fine :) We actually had a good stay but after a super long drive along PCH Hwy 1 I just wanted a beer or two and found out Bar is only open on Sat and there’s not place to eat after 7 anywhere in the area 15 miles away from Bodega Bay. We had to drive into town for dinner so I couldn’t even have a beer bcz I had to drive back. No one was there to check us in. Our key was in an envelope before 7 pm. No one was on property if we’d had any needs. Luckily we were too tired to care :) It definitely is more like an AirBnB than a hotel. Surprising it’s even listed on Expedia ...but it was actually fine is guess. If you’re looking for service and places to eat after 7 pm, this is not your place. Everything in town is closed. Breakfast place across the street was awesome next morning. All food supplied by local farms. Delicious. Cozy. Not sure if I’d stay here again but it was fine. Some would say charming and private but that just means nothing to do ;) Sorry, it was ok tho. Truly. Just a bit weird that we saw no staff at all the whole time we were there.

Lovely little inn. On a busy road but easy to tune out. Room was clean & comfortable. Would stay here again!
