Hotel Makarios

The hotel is just like in the picture,very clean and neat the people working at the hotel were very helpful and nice,the pool was clean , the breakfast wasn’t that bad it’s was average. Overall I’ll recommend anybody who wants to visit santorini to give this hotel a try.

The stay was very nice.

Really close to airport but great to watch the planes come in and to be honest the hotels are all close by. Easy bus routes to Fira and boat trips are just great, Pedro man at reception helps you with absolutely anything you need

Staff was great! Extremely helpful, and would do anything to make your stay a pleasant experience. WiFi was terrible, and there was no variety in food options. “All inclusive” services were extremely limited.

This hotel was very comfortable to stay at to begin with. My wife and I found this hotel listed as all inclusive and it was just that. The bar right near the pool would give anything you requested that was on the menu for drinks and food that was on the "All inclusive" menu that is. There wasn't any other alcohol for free except the house beer and two wines. So if you're looking for margaritas, hard liquor you won't get it for free. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner was part of the all inclusive package, but we didn't much care for the food there. It was nice to get a quick bite before we left and went to explore, but we ate out most of the time. The staff was amazing however, always greeting us and asking if we needed anything or wanted or advice. They were there for everything and SO helpful. A customer is able to rent a four wheeler there (Santorini's main mode of transportation) if you have a license and all required documents that is. The WiFi wasn't always the best, but it was good for checking an email or to and so on. We didn't need to have WiFi because there's too much to do with such little time. Overall, on the budget we had this hotel was very accommodating and a pleasure to stay at. I will say obviously there are much nicer hotels on the island, but this was almost beach front (a 10 minute walk or 3 minute four wheeler ride) and a very nice hotel to stay at. I mean who wants to spend all their time at the hotel? We went out to explore and have fun!Thank you Makarios!

Paid for all inclusive but the food was terrible and even the drinks were awful. Lucky near enough to town to the to go out for meals twice a day. Turned out to be much more expensive and ended up buying food everyday anyway.

A hotel run by a nice family. The rooms are cosy and clean not so big. Our aircomdition was great but we had to empty the water filetr most te. All inclusove but self seevice nice hreek food. Wish ot had any entertainment for summer but we rented a car and so much to see in the island. Pool is great and no need to go early and reserve the bed. The drinks included in the all inclusove are very limited like roki and white house wine or lemonade but we do not drink much. Clean pool area. Not so noisy most year. Very nice manager and owners and staff all. Thank you

The attitude of this hotel management is pitiful. Smile to your face and then treat you terribly. The food is served as a buffet and in a room with most of the tables outside. At exactly the minute the buffet is over they lock the doors so you cannot go back and get anything, doesn't matter if you were talking and didn't get dessert, etc. The drinks are cheap and what you get for lunch they reserve for dinner. They start cleaning up before time is up so they can lock the doors. 30 minutes prior to the end of the buffet nothing is re stocked. It calls itself an All Inclusive but is not they charge for food and drinks after certain times during the day. The beds are uncomfortable, you can only use amenities such as ping pong up to a certain time, TONS of rules posted everywhere. You feel like you are checking into a child's summer camp instead of a hotel you are paying for. Terrible value for the money.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. Petros, the manager was very helpful making suggestions of places to visit and how to get around the island. The pool was really lovely - very clean and all the areas around the hotel were well maintained. We didn't use the tennis court or table tennis. The hotel was within an easy walk to Kamari centre. There was a bus stop outside to get to Fira but we found that were more buses for the return journey if we took a bus to Kamari centre and walked from there. Otherwise you had to change buses at Monolithos and catch a second bus to deliver you to the stop outside the hotel. Highlights were the volcanic islands tour, walking along the caldera edge from Fira to Skaros rock, lovely lunches at Ammoudi and Thirasia and the open air cinema at Kamari. The excavations at Akrotiri were worth visiting as well as the Prehistoric museum in Fira. Santorini was beautiful but we found it very expensive. We usually spent about 8 euros on a coffee and a Coke!
