Hotel Felix River North/Magnificent Mile

It's affordable and clean and feels like a proper hotel but it becomes obvious very quickly that it's a budget hotel. The rooms are small, which is nbd but there's no place to put your clothes. My room has obvious places they could put a dresser but there is none so I ended up living out of my suitcase. Also no place to sit and eat or work except an 8" shelf under the TV. Television conked out every night around 10:30, maintenance guy was no help, it's clearly an issue with the cheap satellite service. Staff was kind and helpful but you can tell where the owners are cutting costs.

We were shocked at how small the room was. And we only had the old desk chair. The robe is a nice touch, but I would rather have some drinking cups. When we went down to ask for cups in the room because the phone doesn’t connect you to the front desk or housekeeping, I tried calling the hotel on my cell phone and no one answered, they said they don’t do cups anymore, which is crazy to me so we just grabbed a bunch of those paper cups they have by the water when you come into the lobby. We didn’t interact with the staff too much but for those that we did, they were very nice. The location is great, close to a lot of great restaurants and you can just about walk anywhere downtown. I'm not sure we would book here again. I don’t think it’s worth the price.

I'm very low maintenance, and I don't think I've ever written a hotel review before. This was a pretty annoying stretch of days, and I was traveling on business. Just basic things were apparent from the beginning - there wasn't a single cup in my room. Couldn't even get a drink of water if I wanted to, except for the sealed bougie $8 water bottles on the nightstand upon checking in. No ironing board, not even a refrigerator. I travel with important medication that needs to be chilled, so I kept having to place it in the ice bucket (no worries, the ice was free). I DoorDashed a pizza, and it was left in the lobby in front of the reception, and someone just straight up stole it. There was a 10-minute delay between the delivery and my going to the lobby. I heard drag racing in the street quite literally all night for most nights, and did not get the best sleep. Don't recommend this place unless all other options are booked. It's not terrible, but ABSOLUTELY not worth the price. I'm sure I'm forgetting other things - I ended up just trying to minimize my time at the hotel as much as possible by the latter half of the stay.

Thought the room - even though we booked a deluxe room, lacked basics, there was no facility to make a drink - I thought at least a kettle (we had our own tea and coffee) unless you went down to reception to get hot water and perhaps a mini fridge would have been nice. So for the money I was disappointed as we were there for a few nights

Room were small and very pricey for the size.

The advertisement for the gym says chest and shoulder presses, but this is not true. The urban fee is a junk fee. There was a lack of basic amenities like a little fridge or microwave. The staff are super polite, of course.
